March 29, 200917 yr From free info from Maggard.. He says that the people close to the situation have been bragging about who the next coach will be and they feel that the admin feels that they blew it out of the water, grand slam, yayaya... People who are important to the team are being told that they will 'LOVE' the new coach. Take it for what it's worth, my friends... (in J. McCain's voice) I like the sound of that if it has indeed already happened. Anyone that fits all of those descritions would be on a very short list of 3 coaches IMO. Pitino,Calapari, or Donovan, not necessarily in that order. The others Izzo, Wright, Dixon, Barnes, all top notch coaches but not a grand slam IMO. All very very close however but at least one things such as style of play, name, championships, or whatever keeps them from being a GRAND SLAM.
March 29, 200917 yr Was Cal even NAMED as a guilty party at UMass? I keep hearing he is "dirty" somehow, but I don't remember him being in trouble. Anyone around that can fill me in on what the Coach himself is or is not guilty of?
March 29, 200917 yr I want to know who our next Coach is as much as anyone, but all I want is real facts, the sure thing. If its so and so then it better be so if you know I what I mean.
March 29, 200917 yr I have been one that has been very against Cal coming in but at this point it would be easily the best hire we can get and the guy can obviously recruit. Can he bring Wall with him?
March 29, 200917 yr I want to know who our next Coach is as much as anyone, but all I want is real facts, the sure thing. If its so and so then it better be so if you know I what I mean. Outside of Barnhart and Todd, and maybe their wives, I doubt anyone for certain knows who it will be. The people that tell you things are just putting all the speculation/rumors/information they are getting together and trying to make an educated guess on it. You can't take anything for fact until it is official.
March 29, 200917 yr Someone has the coaches already in their blue-clad shirts... It amazes me what people can do with Photoshop.
March 29, 200917 yr Someone has the coaches already in their blue-clad shirts... That's cool... BTW, you can now change you're avatar and location...
March 29, 200917 yr For what it's worth.. Patterson, Meeks, Stevenson, Miller, and Orton have all joined the Calipari group. Bozich and Crawford from the Courier-Journal say to keep an eye on the Cal to UK situation.
March 29, 200917 yr Someone has the coaches already in their blue-clad shirts... Matta looks good in blue.
March 29, 200917 yr He is no better than what UK had. IMHO. Wow. Look at Matta's numbers. 229-78 in 9 years. Nine 20 win seasons(Not a year with 20 or less wins) Had his teams in the post season 8 times(1 NIT, 7 NCAA's) NIT champs last year, and the national runner ups in 2006-2007. Missed the post season once, Ohio State was ineligible. He still won 20 games that year. Outside of this year, he has made it past the 1st round every year in the dance. To me, that is just a little bit better than what Billy Clyde has done.
