3. Elliott Co.

4. Eastern

5. Shelby Valley

6. Mason Co.

7. W. Jessamine

Just because these were the 16 teams in the tourney doesn't mean they were the 16 best, Holmes at number one is the onely one that really matters, after that the discussion could go a million different ways.

That might be why I said the following.

Holmes #1 and after that it doesn't matter. Congrats to the Dogs!!!!

Agreed, all that Cantrell and AP polls and that go completely out the door when you settle it on the court, and that is all that matters.

The poster that started his thread limited his rankings to Sweet 16 teams, so I followed suit.

If I'm rating the top 10 or top 16 teams in the entire state, I can guarantee you they would look much different.

Another back handed slap at EC as I cannot agree with Chrisitan Co at all. I was really not impressed with them. Holmes kept them in the game way to long by slowing the ball down. Each time Holmes stepped up the tempo they opened a double digit lead. CHristian Co had a lot of athletes but not enough basketball players to go along with it. I would have put them 9 or 10 at best.

Holmes established itself clearly as no. 1. After the sweet 16 does not represent the next 16 best teams and to argue that point is ridiculous. It represents the 16 region winners.

It's not a slap at anyone ... it's my opinion.

In my opinion, Christian's athleticism and depth would have given teams like Elliott and Shelby Valley fits, especially on a longer court. Christian forced Holmes into 21 turnovers and played the Bulldogs just as tough as Elliott County did.
