Not only is this thread way too soon, its not fair. You guys are ready speculating if Timmy Knipp is transferring and where they'll finish next year! Give the kids a chance to enjoy this year before we worry about next year.

If Timmy Knipp is still there and if the Faulkner kid turns out to be a good PG, they should contend for the 16th again. Knipp will probably end up being better than any of the seniors that just graduated, so he can definitely make up for some of the lost production. Again, if the Faulkner kid can produce at the point, I figure a solid PG combined with Knipp will be enough. Especially considering EC was light years above the 16th this season. Yes, they lose a lot and they'll have to battle it out in the region now rather than running on cruise control.

 

The key is Knipp staying. If Knipp leaves, forget about it.

I'll give you 3 right off the top of my head, Fairview, East Carter and Rose Hill to start with.

I think there is zero chace of him leavig this season per some information that was told from a very reliable source close to the situation. If Elliott can not get a better coach than Rick Mays, particularly one that can develop and work with talent, I think it would be in the best interests of TK to transfer.

Are you serious? All he did with talent was compile a 106-22 record over the past four years. That's an .828 win percentage. Also, EC was 86-13 vs. the region during that span for an .869 clip.

 

They improved every year. EC's win total went up and it's loss total decreased every season for the past four years.

Hey, I'm not a Elliott Fan, far from it. But a blind man could see Mays was lost out there, he won all of those games due to having a division 1 signee, a D-2 signee, the 16th region's all-time leading scorer and one of the best young players in the state. Compound that with playing in the weak 16th region, playing no one of substance outside of the 16th region apart from this season, and that Mays coached as much from the Sidelines as my 8-year-old brother does.

I don't think it will happen, as I said I spoke to someone VERY close to this situation and they said Timmy Knipp will be at Elliott County next year, now after that, I don't know.

That is where I have heard or even possibly East Carter. I do not think East myself but was talk at the tournament.

Having the Toyota Plant in your backyard helps. One call and anyone can get a job in exchange for their child attending school would be my best guess.

 

From what I have heard none of the current transfers have a job at Toyota. I have also heard that it usually takes a couple years to get on at Toyota full time.

 

Its just a common occurance that good players transfer to good programs.

 

Holmes had 3 transfers

Clark Co. had 2

Lex Cath had 2

Hazard had 3 (a good program on a smaller scale)

Mason Co. had 1

J'town had a couple.

I fully expect Knipp to return to Elliott. With that being said I think Elliott will fall in that group of teams behind East, Fairview, and RH that have a chance to be very competitive.
