I dont think there is any chance of this.

He seems to need an attitude adjustment, where ever he plays.

There will definately be a drop off next year but if Timmy stays and Craig Faulkner develops into a legit point guard we could see this team right back in Rupp next year! Ison needs to drop 15 pounds and work on being more mobile around the goal with the Griffith kid picking up some slack. The cupboard is not bare but some work has to be done!

As a college scout, I was greatly impressed with Timmy Knipps upside. The kid has as much potential to be what he wants to be, although he lacks enthusiasm and team spirit from my opinion. I was sitting with 5 other scouts and his lack of enthusiasm after he fouled out yesterday(which was a bad call) and his lack of huddling up and supporting his teammates did not sit well with any of us.

 

That is the thing that stood out in our group as well It looks like it is painful for him to play basketball;seems detached.

Yes, and this has been discussed between varioius scouts, including myself. It hurts us more that the kid has tremendous talent, but doesnt seem to enjoy playing. To play at the next level, you really have to want it. Honestly, he is not even the most watched Sophomore in his Region by College scouts, believe it or not.

Just a thought could team run it up on Elliott Co in upcoming games? I know Elliott Co put some big numbers up on teams this year.

I like Elliott's chances next year. I think they have a solid group returning to put around what is going to be a stud next year in Timmy Knipp. Nickell is going to be a reliable second scorer and will run the show. By this time next year, Ison will be a very good player inside the 16th region. Faulkner is a goood shooter that will make teams play him honest and that will keep double teams away from Knipp. I think the 16th region will have a lot of paridy next year and there is as many as 4 or 5 that are on about the same playing field and any of those teams could win it, Elliott being one of them.

 

As far as Timmy's attitude, I think a lot of you look too much into it. That is just him, and if you are around him you would find out that he is a really good kid and does not have any attitude problems. He goes about his business and plays his best in the biggest games. After this summer, his recruitment will heat up. His upside is great and he has the body that all the coaches like. I think you will more than likely see him in a major conference one day.

Really? I don't think it is a lack of enthusiasm as much as it is just his personality. He seems to be just a laid back, shy kid. Trust me, I think next year you will see a big difference in him. I don't think anyone in the 16th is even close to as good as T.Knipp for next year, and this is coming from a "SO-CALLED ELLIOTT BASHER".

I have said this before about TK. I think he has the potential to be a big Division 1 prospect, perhaps not Dwight Howard, but with a little work, he could easily be a high 4, to borderline 5 star recruit by his senior season.

 

For this to happen, he needs to become more aggressive on both sides of the ball. He needs to develop a little bit of an attitude IMO, not one that can get him into trouble, but one that he could be able to assert himself. He also needs to try to avoid getting cheap fouls. He should also work on playing above the rim when a ball is shot. I saw him barely jumping this week when going for a board, and this really hurt him in the Holmes game especially. If he can continue to improve on his outside jumpshot, become more agressive and play above the rim he will be a really outstanding player.

 

Also, if I'm not mistaken, he is only 16 years old, so he is probably going to continue to grow, he's 6'8 right now and could end up being 6'10, 6'11, or maybe even 7'0 by the time he is ready to graduate.

It would also benefit him to hit the weights over the off season.

Hey let the Lions fans get over this game before you start talking about next year. We all know it's going to be tough when you lose four of five starters but at the moment it isn't the time to talk about next year... Let the senior enjoy the rest of their year and the town to relish in the memories of the last three years....

Teams with fire power out of the 16th: East Carter, WEst Carter, Rosehill, Greenup and Russell.

Please elaborate on who West Carter has other than Aaron Rayburn, who Greenup has at all and who Russell has other than Skaggs.

I think Rose Hill returns the most talent. East will probably be preseason #1, but RH could end up being the top team in the region.

 

East has a good combo in Barnhill/Bair returning, but what else?

 

West is losing 5 of their top 6 players. Only Rayburn has much experience, and I think that the only other two underclassmen who had much PT this season were F/C Justin Jarrell and PG Harrison Bond. I think they may be a little too green to be a major threat.

 

Greenup and Russell will continue to improve. Don't know what they are returning, but their coaches will get the most out of their teams.

 

I think a sleeper could be Rowan. Don't they have pretty good crop of young talent? Also, I don't think that Ashland loses much either. Also, I think that possibly Menifee could be in the top handful of teams in the region. They started out well this year, and I don't think they had many seniors.

 

Anyway, I would say East and RH at the top, and then probably anyone from 3-16. The 16th region is wide open. Sadly though, it is very weak IMO. No matter who respresents the 16th at the state tournament I wouldn't be surprised.
