I think we're talking about a different play. I was responding to the question of control and travel on Cotton. You're talking about the Holmes player going out of bounds. I couldn't see it. Opposite end from me.

Everyone around me noticed that. Sometimes youth and excitement are a bad combination. Lesson learned.

I was opposite the play and in one of the suites ( ) so I had a bad look, but my first impression was that the biggest problem with the reaction the call got was how late the whistle had blown. Granted I didn't see when he had full control but I clearly saw him turn and call the TO well before going out of bounds. The whistle blew as he was already past the cheerleaders...

So good that Riley spent a whole lot of time standing on the sidelines and cheering on his team...

 

I had heard that Riley was having some ankle issues....wasn't sure how much time he would play from the start????? Not sure if this is fact or rumor.

Congrats to Holmes, I hope they do well at Rupp. I'm looking forward to that potential second round match-up.

 

These two teams are so evenly matched it's crazy. Play 10 times and it's 5-5 for sure.

 

Holmes did a great job on McFarland, he really struggled tonight.

 

Give me ten Andrew Brown's any day of the week. He has been the difference in this team since he was inserted in the starting lineup. Got to feel for him on that last shot.

 

Gabbard did a great, great job on Riley. I think he's the better PG. Rico is a flat out stud.

 

Both coaches did a fantastic job. Holmes ran just as much, and maybe more, clock than Boone. Where are the Holmes fans that complain about stall ball? It certainly wasn't stall ball either way, but it is a little ironic.

 

Bring home a title to the 9th !

Neither team played stall ball tonight. Both teams had moments where they just passed the ball around the perimeter and it might have seemed like they were stalling, but the way both teams were getting after it on defense, I can see why they slowed down their possessions so much.

 

It hasn't been mentioned much but despite Rico having a hell of a game, I felt Cotton did a decent job defending him. Rico earned every point he got tonight.

Agreed, he spent some quality time on the sideline. I think his third foul was cheap though and took him to the sideline a bit longer than necessary. He was still leading them from the side though, and despite having no points tonight, I'm still glad he got POY and I still think he is Holmes true floor leader this year. Ricardo Johnson can be the leader too, and he knows how to take over a game, just needs to be more aggressive offensively at times.

It was slow. I'm guessing the official was doing a replay in his head of what happened in what order.

Was talking to a few guys tonight about how he might be the most improved player in NKY this season. Really impressed with how much his game has grown from pure athlete to basketball player...

You score 32 against Elliott County and you will be watching the rest of the tournament the same place we will be. JMO.

 

If Holmes plays Elliott they will have over 30 at the half....Elliott simply chases the ball on defense. They do not lock you up.
