I'm assuming now that Scott County will no longer be considered the favorite to win it all now?

I hate to hear this Richie is a good kid and a good player. This will hurt Scott Co. big time.

Hopefully this won't hurt him too much on the recruiting seen...

It's been a pleasure to watch Richie turn into a star since his sophomore season, and I know he wanted to lead this team to the state title and his second state title. He may still get a ring if Scott County goes on to win without him, but it just won't be the same for him.

 

As for his college career, hopefully he will get healed up as soon as possible and be able to show some coaches what he is made of.

 

Good luck Richie, you've been one of the hardest working big men I've seen play at Scott County and you have the talent to match your work ethic.

Good luck to Richie Phares. I'd love to see him take the walk-on to UK. You don't see too many big men with his set of skills.

 

This certainly makes things very interesting for Scott County now.

It always seems to happen to the best of players. Hoping he as a great, speedy recovery, and good luck to Scott Co. the rest of the way.

I hate to hear he got hurt. He is a great player. Does anyone know if he has already commited to play college ball somewhere? I hope be ready to play college ball next year.

I agree, we being parents all wish him and his family the best through the up comming rehabilitation times, but we all realize that he worked hard at becomming the basketball player that he is today, and we know he and his family will do the same now to get him back to the level of player he can be, to go on to the next level of basketball that I'm sure he wants to play.

So hate to hear this about any kid. Wish him a speedy and full recovery and as far as Scott Co. goes, this is a blow to their Team, but they can still win it all IMHO.

Very sad news about this young man. I enjoyed watching him in high school especially his work ethics. Best of luck to him for a full and speedy recovery.

This is a terrible blow to the kid in Kentucky whose stock was probally higher than any other player in the 2010 class right now. Richie was a money player who

stepped it up in big games. His injury brought me back to my own son's acl injury two years ago in the first game of the district. Just too similiar and was like a kick in the stomach, , but

Richie will work and recover and still have some d-1 offers to choose from.

Scott County will not be the same team without him
