Not if he handles it like he did today at times. I was really surprised at some of the silly turnovers he had. I love his game though, he can really put pressure on the defense with his dribble penetration. He also can jump out of the gym. I was watching him in warmups dunk with ease and throw down a pretty cool reverse. He has to be maybe 6'0 at best.

 

I disagree with this. Gabbard was awesome handling the ball today, perhaps the key to the game with very few turnovers and running the offense the way he did under constant pressure.

Hasn't been playing much the last third of the season. I believe he has been sick the last few days, as was Cotton.

Holmes might be a better shot from the outside, not sure about the rebounding, but besides that Boone County should be better at everything else. Boone County by 9 pts.

Boone may win by 5+ but I cannot say that Boone wants it more. To me, both teams want to go to State big-time badly. I hope lots of bb fans will fill the BOK to see two teams play their tails off and hearts out.

It doesn't look like they needed him today. It is hard to question playing time when the team keeps winning. I think you will see him some against Holmes. They are going to need someone to hit an outside shot or two and he is someone who might be able to hit a shot.

Close game (2 point game until about 1:24 left, and Boone hit their free throws at the end. Could have went either way, but Boone will take the win any way they can get it! Brown hit 4 FTs in the last minute, and McFarland hit another two. I'd say McFarland played the best for Boone today, followed by Brown. McFarland's interior passing is excellent, and he sets his teammates up for s many bunnies!

He did handle it well for the most part but just like the first Highlands game he had some unforced turnovers. I think at times he gets too fast for his own good.

 

He is a dynamite guard and one that I told my middle school son to watch today for sure. My point was that it was more unusual than anything and he better bring his A-game on Tuesday night.

You can't be serious...to say one team wants it more than the other or has more heart is flat out ridiculous and somewhat disrespectful.

 

IMO, as Straightshooter said, both teams want this badly. Holmes wants it for the simple fact that they want to avenge their only nky loss and silence all of their critics. I also think they still have a bad taste in their mouths from losing in the state championship last year and coming up short of their ultimate goal.

 

Boone wants it to prove they belong in the upper echelon of teams throughout the state while also having a chance to play on the biggest stage in KY High School basketball.
