That's not a bad idea but who then does D. Johnson or Housely guard? I'm not too sure either can guard Cotton. That would also put JJ on Mcfarland. The only way Rico guarding the point would work is if you have Rice in there and either D. Johnson/Housely on the bench.

IMO D.Johnson and J.Johnson are Holmes best on the ball defenders other than Rico. Rice is very long and athletic, so that wouldn't be bad idea also. I don't think Holmes should really worry about defense, that is their strength, and I don't see Holmes having any problems matching up with Boone!

I don't see Holmes having any problem matching up with Boone either but the problem with Rico guarding the point is it leaves a void inside, unless Rice is in.

For Holmes' 3rd straight regional game, we see lots of blowout predictions. The blowouts have not occurred. Tonight will be no exception. It will be a great defensive battle. Gabbard vs. Riley will be a key matchup. I'll continue to say Rebels win region. Holmes may win the dunk contest (although Cotton can jam with the best of them), but all that matters is the final score. I usually don't do a score but tonight I'll say 49-46.

He's mature enough and disciplined enough to dish the ball off if he doesn't get a good shot. Don't be fooled by his scoring numbers, he'll show those tonight that may not be that familiar with him why he's a big time D1 player. Oh by the by he's a better person than he is a basketball player.

The difference is that in the earlier game he didn't run the point. If he runs the point tonight and his coach allows him to penetrate when he wants to it will be an entirely different game from the last one.

Riley won't be matched up with Gabbard...he'll be on Brown. Expect to see Rico guard Gabbard when Rice is in. When he's not, either DJ or Housely will be on him.

I was sitting pretty much next to Cotton during the NCC game and he said nothing of the sort. He mainly talked about how could the arena be out of fries and chicken strips... The Boone county players are a class act group and let their play on the floor do the talking for them. No need to try and stoke a fire for this rematch, both teams are fired up an ready to play.

Just reporting what I heard from SEVERAL Holmes player. I know for a fact he said something to them during the Highlands game.
