March 2, 200917 yr We lost out back up QB, we lost a starting tackle, and now we lost a near all pro WR. Who have we signed? We are Net -3, correct? We need to sign a RB and another WR in my opinion. Any other true Bengal fans worried?
March 2, 200917 yr I'm not worried about losing Fitzpatrick at all. We've already proven that we can't win with him, so I'd like to go elsewhere. I like that we re-signed DeDe Dorsey, although he didn't play last year. I'm hoping we'll re-sign Cedric Benson, although he is visiting with the Texans today. He's stated that he would like to stay here, so I have a bad feeling about him... Losing TJ stinks, but it's something that we knew would happen. I just don't understand why you would franchise Shayne Graham and not TJ? Especially when we all knew he didn't want to be here. Losing Stacy Andrews is a negative, but he was a 1st year OL. We had a few lineman who performed well towards the end of last year. I'm more disappointed that we never took the opportunity to put Andrews on the D-line. I think he'll do great on the right side of the line in Philly, right next to his brother.
March 2, 200917 yr I think we're ok at WR, assuming Henry can stay on the team and on the field. I think Andre Caldwell will step in and do a sufficient job of taking over for TJ. Obviously not as polished, but he has more speed & is tough. Jerome Simpson?

They need to go line, line, line, and then more line. Both sides. OK maybe a RB after the 3rd round.
March 2, 200917 yr I think its more than fair to be worried considering the level the team is at WITH all of the players they lost. I certainly hope they are able to keep Benson. I don't want to overpay for a running back. If Benson leaves, I'd take my chances in the draft. I still say the focus is from the inside out on both sides of the LOS. Handle that and the rest will be fine.

Handle that and the rest will be fine. Well said. :thumb: The Bengals HAVE to resign Benson, or draft an RB. They have interest in Derrick Ward, but I'd prefer to draft an RB if we can't re-sign Cedric Benson. Losing Fitzpatrick doesn't worry me at all. Like I said earlier, he proved last year that he does not have an NFL arm. And we didn't win with him. Losing Andrews is disappointing, but I think letting him go was actually the best move for this team...
March 3, 200917 yr Don't be worried, Guru. They're an entire roster away from contending. None of these free agent signings are hurting them. It'll take at least 3-4 good drafts to even make them a playoff contender again.

March 3, 200917 yr I have season tickets, I am worried! Hey, season tickets in the NFL are always a good show. They've got the fanbase to succeed in Cincy but they need to turn over the roster. I'm a Browns fan and I'm not feeling much better. At least you probably have a coaching and roster change coming up........I'm very upset with our coaching hire. The sad thing is the Bengals already need to be looking at the quarterback spot. Carson has, been and will always be injury-prone and by the time the rest of the roster is ready he'll be done.
March 3, 200917 yr They let one of their top 3 players go=BAD! Benson is in Houston today=BAD! They are down in backup RB+QB=BAD! They need help on oline+Dline=BAD! They haven't overpaid for any players=Good I think they need to take care of the RB position before the draft. If they fool around and waste a high draft pick then they have missed out on getting an OT + pass rusher. Ward is the best bet with Benson if they don't have to overpay (Ward wants too much right now but nobody is going after him). W.Dunn+D.Brooks are both out there now. Does anybody besides me wonder how you just let guys like TJ,Brooks+Hayensworth just walk? Why not trade them a year early? Oh wait that's what people like the Pats do! You think Dallas might have taken one of Cincy's 2 WR's last year? They have a few nice RB's there. I just don't get it!
March 3, 200917 yr I am very worried. Thought I read Brown has 25 million cap space to spend but its the same old stuff we are building through the draft, well Mike there are a lot of voids to fill now. The running game is a major concern right now. I don't think Benson wants any part of this mess. Maybe we get DeShaun Foster and pray?
March 3, 200917 yr I would like to see them: 1. Sign Coles tomorrow 2. Sign Ward or Benson (I think Ward would be great here) 3. Draft O-line in round one 4. D-line in round 2, and a RB in the 3rd or 4th 5. Hire a general manager (Ok, that's a little over the top-I'll quit now) Before I got done posting this, I saw that Ward signed with the Bucs, so I thought I would leave it on the "wish list" for good measure. It's just fitting as a Bengals fan. Edited March 3, 200917 yr by LCPATS
March 3, 200917 yr I think they can do some things next year if they draft good (Big If) I see no reason why the D won't get better it was ranked 12th last year and should bet better. The offense should be better with Carson back and if they can get some OL help in the draft they could have a a solid running game.
