No disrespect intended but who in the world is Deming High School? Are they a new school? I've never heard of this place until this year and it seems like I've heard of them 1000 times now. Again, not meaning any disrespect, I was just wondering who in the world they are?

Interestingly enough, there once was a time, a few years back, when Deming had one of the highest-rated speech and debate teams in the Commonwealth.

Mt. Olivet Deming and they have been around for years. They are a very small school, but have some good athletes.

 

Wow--I remember someone referring to them in this manner a couple of years ago and getting taken to task for it?? Deming has a fine program and does a good job with the hand they are dealt!!

I believe this this district is always being played at Harrison.

The tournament held this year is the fifth straight year the 38th (boys and girls) has been held at Harrison County.

 

It has been determined that next year, and the years following, the site will be determined by the district schools on a rotational basis.

 

For example, next year Deming will choose the site of the tournament, with the only provision that the tournaments will be held at one of the schools in the district...in other words, Deming could choose to have the tournament at their school, at Harrison Co., at Pendleton Co., or at Nicholas Co....but not at Mason Co.

 

For those of you who attended the 38th District this year, could the other district school gyms handle the crowds that turned out this year?

Is there a problem with Deming hosting the boys tournament, knowing that hundreds of people will be turned away, simply because of the size of the gym?

 

When it's Nicholas County's turn, they are supposedly going to have a new gym ready that will seat 2300 people.

 

On a side not, next year it will be the 38th District's turn to pick the site for the boy's 10th Region Tournament.

I think the 38th should remain at Harrison. Unless Nicholas gets their 2300 capacity facility.

Deming is the only school in the Robertson County schools system (The only school in the county for that fact.). It houses K-12 with roughly 400 students. Robertson County is the smallest populated county in the state with about 2200 residents and the second smallest in square miles.

You should have said what kind of team would Deming have without the King's, a distant 4th in this district for sure:thumb:

All In---you obviously didn't see the last 5-6 games Deming played prior to District, talent other than the Kings exists at Deming.

Really? Because Harrison has five players that average double figures and another who averages eight. They also have three players who average over three assist per game. Harrison county had a good team this year because they were a good basketball team, played unselfish, and worked hard on the defensive end.
