HammerTime Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 Just wanted to see if everyone still feels the same way about this. For those of you who weren't here for that thread here is the link and its a nice read. It was about 2 years ago. http://www.bluegrasspreps.com/showthread.php?t=118759
HammerTime Posted February 19, 2009 Author Posted February 19, 2009 This is by no means a thread to bash Billy just wanted to see if anyone has changed their mind thats all.
HammerTime Posted February 19, 2009 Author Posted February 19, 2009 Insert sleepy smiley. Aw come on thats all you got. I don't even get a pat on the back.
mexitucky Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 I don't regret it at all. Tubby was handed the keys to a Ferarri and drove it really fast for a year, but he didn't take care of it. Now Billy G is left restoring the engine.
Original Rookie Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 Aw come on thats all you got. I don't even get a pat on the back. For what? I still think it was best for both parties to part ways.
John Anthony Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 How is this team any better with Tubby at this point? His recruiting and lack there of is a big part of the reason why UK is still struggling. I mean look at the depth of this team. The only possible difference you could argue is UK could have went after an ace recruiter such as a Calapari or Matta but they already had homes. Just have to continue to be partient with Billy C.

JPP Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 I searched the thread and couldnt find, surprisingly that I had posted. I dont know how many people on here are familiar with the band Black Label Society, but all I heard in my head was the song Doomsday Jesus at the time. I despised the way Tubby was treated. I also hate the way Billy G is being treated by some, at the present moment. (This is no shot at you for starting the thread). I believe it is a good one, due to recent uprisings.
HCBearsFan32 Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 Talked about this at work today, I'm going to say, That a lot of people wish UK still ran the ball line D...

hoopboy Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 Talked about this at work today, I'm going to say, That a lot of people wish UK still ran the ball line D... The ball line D was certainly effective during Tubby's last two seasons.

Now Billy G is left restoring the engine. :thumb: Call me crazy, but I never expected Billy G to make it to the final four within his first two seasons. Heck, I might even give him 4 or 5 to turn the team around. It's hard to make a delicious steak when all you have to work with is old cheap bologne.
BigSpikes Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 UKMustangFan: "Coming from a guy who thinks Calipari would be a good choice....." I'd rather have Cal than BCG, he recruits horses, plays fun and uptempo, and last time I checked, he's had some pretty good seasons.
