racer4life
The 16th is by far the weakest region. The 16th is not even close to being the worst. I have already posted on this in the past and I don't feel like looking it up again, but I think out of all of the teams in the 16th only a few had losing records outside the region. That could have a lot to do with them playing weak out of region competition...A lot of weaker teams will play weak out of region competition to pick up a few W's. The smaller 9th and 10th region teams do it all the time.
madman
Outside of Elliott the 16th has to be the worst. No other team in the region would have a chance to win any other region in the state. I think it's probably the weakest it has been in recent memory. You are 100% correct! :ylsuper:

If you look at the thread started by MCPAPA on the 16th vs. the 10th though, you may question this in this case. The sixteenth has a winning record in the battle and very few games are played by the 16ths top tier teams. Im not claiming by any stretch that this indicates the 16th is on par with the 10th, but it does imply it may not be as bad as thought by many. JPP
16TH is the worst. Im not trying to pick on your quote, you were just the last. Aside from a powerflul Elliott team dominating the region, where is the evidence. Clearly it is not near the top, but where is any evidence that the bottom feeders are better! HDE
I'd go with the 15th. Shelby Valley is very good, and Johnson Central isn't bad, but after that it's a struggle. The 12th and 14th aren't very strong either after the top three our four teams. I don't much about the 16th, but I saw Ashland earlier and they are ranked seventh or eighth in the 16th but may be fifth if they were in the 13th. addout
If you look at which region has the best chance to win the Sweet Sixteen this year, then the 15th and 16th are two of the top regions. Isn't it ironic how many think that the 15th and 16 are the weakest regions but regionally speaking they probably have the forth or fifth best chance of winning the sweet sixteen!:idunno:
Voice of Reason
I would like to see a list of the teams ranked 2-6 in the 15th and 16th. We all know EC and SV are top notch. If they weren't there, who would be the favorites to win those regions? That may help us decide this 15/16 debate. OK, it looks like the scoreboard on BGP does list all the teams in a region if you pull up one of the teams at the region. Based on what I see there, I think Region 15 is clearly weaker than 16. catfan08
There are 3 or 4 regions weaker than the 16th; 15th, 14th, and even the 1st and 8th most likely.

I think you are probably right. I don't think the 16th is as weak as some believe...or perhaps hope?

I think that list looks very accurate and tells the tale on the weakest regions this year. I am surprised the 16th is this low but this list seems to point to the 15th and 16th as the two weakest regions this year.
