What is the weakest region?

Recommended Posts

The 2-6 rated teams in each region, this time using Cantrall:

Region 7 78.64

Region 11 77.76

Region 9 73.0

Region 5 71.78

Region 10 70.96

Region 4 69.32

Region 6 68.66

Region 14 68.60

Region 12 67.68

Region 2 67.60

Region 3 67.12

Region 13 67.0

Region 16 63.66

Region 1 63.44

Region 8 63.22

Region 15 60.86

I don't think when your determining the weakest region you can take out your top team! They are part of your region, if you take them out and avg the ratings 2-6, this is telling us how good your teams are that will be battling to play your no. 1 team in the finals of the region.

mcpapa, how about 1-8 in cantrell ratings??? & Thanks for your info.

Nice work mcpapa I like stats. We have talked about strongest teams in the regions, but we havent done top to BOTTOM and this thread is about the weakest region. I think people might be suprized if you factor in all the teams. Take the 6th region for example who have alot of bad teams. The 9th region has alot of strong teams, but if you count those bad teams too, maybe they aren't the 3 best region in the state. Regions like the 4th and the 5th(my fav) look better doing bottom to top.

mcpapa I am not asking you to do an average for all of the regions, that would be alot of work. lol

Thanks for what you have done.

I don't think when your determining the weakest region you can take out your top team! They are part of your region, if you take them out and avg the ratings 2-6, this is telling us how good your teams are that will be battling to play your no. 1 team in the finals of the region.

The answer is somewhere in between. No, removing the top team doesn't tell the whole story, but it does give you a very clear picture of how good a region is outside of its top team. The 15th and 16th each have one dominant team. If that team somehow got upset, the picture you're being painted is that those regions would get crushed at state.

Very true, but when your top team is 24 points better than your second best team in the region, that has to tell you the region obviously isn't that strong, regardless of how good that team is.

Everything I've seen points in that direction.

No crime here, some region has to be the weakest. And as I said earlier, sometimes these regions produce the best tourneys.

I'm not downing them, but they have Shelby Valley, which is a top 10 team in the state and then nothing else.
