What is the weakest region. Obviously the two Louisville regions and the 11th region can be left out of this discussion. My personal beliefs would be...

 

1. 8th

2. 15th

3. 14th

 

 

I guess we can base our responses on number of perennial powers in that region, as well as having someone make a push for the state title year in year out. In other words, you are starting a new basketball program and you can choose what region you have the best chance of winning. What would you choose.

The 14th had at one time three teams in Cantrall's rankings although now they are on the cusp of being ranked. I think the 16th is weaker than the 14th from top to bottom.

The 3rd isn't very good either I don't believe. Also the 12th isn't very strong.

I'll agree with that, After Elliott County, the 16th takes a severe dip in terms of quality teams.

I think looking at the regions from top to bottom, which some aren't doing, the 16th is by far the worst region in the state.

Hmm...Seems like the only people proclaiming the 15th to be the weakest are the 16th region faithful. It's not like I was the only one who said it.

How so? Elliott is the only team with a shot to win a game in the state tournament from the 16th region. Every other team would lose by 20+ in the State Tournament IMO.

I think compared to the Lexington and Louisville Regions the 16th is definitely weaker, but after that I don't think you can put them in the bottom. The 16th region after Elliott from 2-8 has some very good quality teams that can compete. There are no big name players or flashy teams but the quality is there 2-8. From what I've seen and heard the next three years will be very good for Rose Hill. Just my opinion.

The 12th has 5 or 6 teams who could all compete within the top 25, but I do not think there is a team in the 12th that could compete within the top 10. However, you have to remember that West Jess beat Lex Cath a few weeks back.

 

The 12th Region tournament should be a blast. Other than the 47th each district could put 2 teams into the Regional Tourney that could win it. There will be a team left out of the 45th and the 48th that right now you could make a case for winning the Region.
