UConn 68 Louisville 51

Featured Replies

I blinked and suddenly this game was out of hand. Still, Louisville was due an off game. This concluded an impressive streak of wins, and Louisville will get back on their horse soon.

And some nights Knowles changes a game with his energy.

And some nights Smith is hot from 3.

And some nights McGee is a great leader.

They simply need the guards to step up and do those things more consistently. If they get there, watch out. If not March is going to be a frustrating task...

And sometimes, they don't play UCONN.

Tough loss for the Cards, who do they have next?

And sometimes, they don't play UCONN.

Or UNLV, WKU, Minnesota, UK, and ND.

UConn was just better at exploiting the same weaknesses. The post is going to be suspect because of their age. Not so much out top...

True that. They did kick Pittsburgh's hiney though. One would think the #1 team at the time would have been aware of all that.

Pitt has many of the same problems outside of their one very good guard in Fields. Name me any of the rest...

^Dixon....:D

Dixon, Wannamaker, Biggs. Eh...

Like it or not, UL has average guards. Not saying they are bad, but at the end of the day they are very average as a group. That was exposed a lot worse than I expected tonight...

That is exactly what I have been saying since before the season started. Its UL's achilles heel.

The wild card if Edgar Sosa. They need him to play well to beat good teams.

(like Kenucky:D)

They ARE scary good.

:thumb:They have been my pick to win it all since the 1st of the year.IMO of course.

Their guards are small as well.

Doug Gottlieb brought this up about 3-4 weeks ago...UL's guards just are not good enough.

I agree...their guard play just isn't solid at all.....defensively they are pretty darned tough, BUT, offensively they are so extreme in the hot and cold. U of L fans are going to have some serious emotional battles this season..they can be brilliant at times and subpar at times, often in the same game. This team is built to be better in the next season or two, this year who knows?

We'll disagree there. This group is built to be big time right now. Simply time for the guards to grow up...

UL comes back to Earth tonight.

Well if they have just came back to Earth where in the heck has Kentucky been???:idunno:

Well, you're right, they should be great now....Rick would probably even say that he is disappointed in his guard play.....problem is, that's not going to be fixed this year. I am obviously a HUGE Duke fan, but I often wonder how much would Nolan Smith help this team right now. I tend to feel it would be monumental.

I couldn't name you any of the best, I just figured since the big east is so great and since Pitt was numero uno, their coaching staff would have exposed that, but I guess once again the egg was on my face.
