Dick Vitale to Alabama and Georgia

It takes time for players to adjust to any system. For the drastic mindset that Knight requires, it takes more than usual. I admire the man, but he is not a quick fix for any program, and how long do you believe he is going to be there?

I dont see him coaching anywhere, he doesnt have time to since he does all the commentating and commercials.

I could be very wrong here but I don't see Knight coming out of retirement.

It would be a bad move for either team to hire Knight.

What team wants a coach with 902 wins and 3 national championships on his resume.:irked:

Knight's last national title came in 1987 - 22 years ago

Number of NCAA tournament games won at Texas Tech - 3

Last NCAA tournament game won at Indiana in 1999 - 10 years ago

While his overall numbers are good, it's been some time since Bob Knight was having much success.

I agree, I think he kind of just quit on his players at Texas Tech, he just resigned right in the middle of the season, I don't know if these schools should go after him.

He resigned to make sure that his son got the job that was promised him. If he waited and some change occured the administration could "have gone another direction." Any program that wants to win should hire Bob Knight. Players will play hard, graduate and win games. Hmmm sounds like a good recipe.

Would the top athletes in the nation want to play for Bob Knight ?

He's a great coach but man he's intense. I'd love to have dinner with him but I'm not so sure about playing for him.

No!!

What a pointless stat, he hasn't coached there in 9 years. Come on, you have to do better than that...

I'll tell you this, he would do a whole lot more than just say "We got Whipped" after a loss. He would do something about it.

I was just implying that he wasn't exactly setting the woods on fire with tournament wins down the stretch at Indiana. The "recent" success in Bloomington didn't get him hired in Lubbock. His "success" in Lubbock won't get him hired at Georgia or Alabama. The only reason anyone would hire him is to make a splash for their program and sell some tickets. But after a couple years of limited wins, when the splash levels off and the tickets stop selling, you're back to where you started.

He's been to two sweet sixteens in the last 15 years...
