I believe Walton Verona went many years ago when they were not a member of the 8th Region.

Since 1954, when the school now known as Walton-Verona was built, I couldn't find them as region winners in any region. Could have missed one, but I don't think so. Let me know if you find it...I'd like to know.

 

The former Walton HS did win one (two, actually, if memory serves) way back in the 20s, I think.

I thought Russell County went from the 12th region in 1990 or 91, maybe 92

anyone heve the 9th?

With all of the talk about Sweet 16 draws and who will or won't make it to Rupp, I thought it might be interesting to look at some of the longest droughts for teams winning the region.

Don't mean to nitpick, but Gallatin's title was in 1959. On Feb 20 the team will be honored for the 50 year anniversary when Grant Co. pays a visit. Coach Jock Sutherland:notworthy: will be making the trip to Warsaw that day.
