Which regional favorite will be "MIA" when March 18th rolls around?

Most have Mason in the 10th. I think GRC will be there in Rupp.

I think Mason is the biggest one that could potentially be missing.

Bardstown- 5th region

I'd say you're pretty dead on with that.

I think GRC will come out of the tenth as well.

I wouldn't consider Anderson County to be the clear-cut favorite in the 8th anymore. Would have agreed before the season, but North Oldham had the Bearcats on the ropes at Anderson County before missing FTs late cost them that game.

 

Shelby also had Anderson on the ropes at Anderson, but a controversial call late may have hurt the Rockets.

 

Add in the fact that Humphries is done for the season, Anderson's poor team FT%, and you have a team ripe for upset in the 8th region tournament at Henry County HS.

 

They should still be the favorites heading into the tournament, but I don't see them nearly as being the clear-cut favorite as I previously thought.

Getting back to the question the thread posts...Jeffersontown may be one of the top 5 teams in the state, but J-town may be the most likely favorite to fall in the region simply because their region is so unbelievably loaded. If Jeffersontown fails to bring their "A" game any night in the 7th region tournament, they could be gone. Trinity, Manual, Eastern, Ballard, Seneca - any of a number of teams could oust them.

If Scott County overlooks anyone in the 11th, they might be on the outside looking in!

Ditto. Same issue for the Cardinals as for the Chargers in the 7th. Too many capable teams able to take you down, although I personally think SC's got a little more margin for error than Jtown...

I look for Mason to come out of the 10th, with all of the unfortunate injuries GRC has faced this year I think Mason will be the team to beat, but it should be a great battle.

Having seen all the 8th region contenders...Anderson isn't a clear-cut favorite anymore and if they were upset in the region, it wouldn't be a tremendous surprise at all.

Mason Co wasn't even the preseason favorite. :lol:
