They actually play their best when they attack the basket from the wings and guards first and then shoot the outside shots as a secondary option, IMO. Four of the starters are great at attacking the basket.

I didn't think that Elliott played badly. I thought the key to the game was the point guard for Morgan. He did an excellent job holding on to the ball.

 

Elliott relies heavily on forcing turnovers.

 

If they can't get steals in the backcourt (Morgan and West) the games remain competetive.

 

Also, this is something that I have been noticing (and expect the refs to make the call any time). When Timmy Knipp is taking the ball out of bounds (after a opponent's score) he appears to remain in bounds. I know that one foot is off the floor, and the other is planted out of bounds, but he is so long it appers he is standing well in bounds.

 

I hope they convince him to take the extra step back (with both feet). Otherwise I believe he will be whistled for an infraction in the future.

 

When Elliott doesn't force turnovers they seem to really struggle...Teams like Holmes, Scott, and Eastern will not turn the ball over like teams in the 16th region, therefore I do not see Elliott being a top 3 team in the state. Elliott plays extremely hard but the I believe the length and athletes of Holmes, Scott, and Eastern will beat the fundamentals of Elliott.

I didn't post this until now, because I gave them the benefit of the doubt and thought maybe they were caught up in the moment of winning and had to change into varsity uniforms; but it doesn't take long to shake someone's hand and there is what 20 minutes between games.:confused: Their coaches should have never let this happen!!! But this shows me what Elliottt thinks of their opponents and themselves.

Hey Dale, I think I herd your boy is going to Radford nice school but I have seen him play several times last year....I think he is a big time college player...he just got hair lipped by the mountain boy syndrome...like Farmer and Phil Cox...and most recently Lofton...he could have scored double figures for UK last year good luck....and that statement is comming from not only me but a giuy who turned Louisville to Preston Knowles...I really thought Patino would look to Elliott Co.

Elliott didnt force a lot of turnovers against Pickering, Southside, M.Beach

and they beat them because they shot a normal percentage! They didnt force a lot against Anderson either and shot not real bad but under normal and still won that game!!! Nearly everyone from high school to pro has a few "deer in the headlight look" games! Elliott has played 7 games against comp well above the 16th region and won 5 of them! In the five they won they didnt force a lot of turnovers, but they did shoot their normal average or above except the Anderson game!!!!!!!!!!
