basketballxJones
Sounded like Morgan put up a good fight. Did Eilliott not play well?
scorekeeper
I didn't think that Elliott played badly. I thought the key to the game was the point guard for Morgan. He did an excellent job holding on to the ball. Elliott relies heavily on forcing turnovers. If they can't get steals in the backcourt (Morgan and West) the games remain competetive. Also, this is something that I have been noticing (and expect the refs to make the call any time). When Timmy Knipp is taking the ball out of bounds (after a opponent's score) he appears to remain in bounds. I know that one foot is off the floor, and the other is planted out of bounds, but he is so long it appers he is standing well in bounds. I hope they convince him to take the extra step back (with both feet). Otherwise I believe he will be whistled for an infraction in the future. dboggs
EC keeps rolling along also. Good win EC :thumb: Sorry to say but give credit where credit is due!!!!!!!!! Jonathan Ferguson was the man of the night. Without his ambition and drive, unlike his team members, this would not have been a win. Elliott needs to come out focused and ready to play no matter in or out of district. I think the congrats go to Jonathan Ferguson for pulling us out. WAY TO GO FERG---THE DEPENDABLE ONE!!! scorekeeper
I agree that Jonathan had the game (and is dependable). However, your assertion that he is the "DEPENDABLE ONE" implies that he is the only one on which the team can consistently rely. Jonathan carries much of the weight for this team. However, it is a team sport and some of the "supporting cast" carries a great deal of the burden as well.

ky hoopster
I think they are all dependable for the most part! I just don't think we were mentally prepared last night!! All of them had good moments and bad moments!!! Missed lot's of frow's and didn't shoot real well from the perimeter, BUT we still got the W!!!! Once again "the sum of the parts exceeded the individual's"!!!!! As individual's we were off our game last night, but the sum of the part's carried us through!!!!!! .....Man I even impressed myself with this one!!!!!!!!!!

oldtimefan
I was at this game. First I would like to say I don't have a dog in this fight, but I did see something that disturbed me after the JV game. The Lions JV team beat the Cougars JV team by about 50 points, but they (Elliott) did NOT have the decency to come shake their hands after the game!! All but 3 of Elliott Countys players headed straight to the locker room!!! I think this was in very bad taste,. bad sportsmanship and I would guarantee that Matthew Perry would never let this happen!!!! Elliott, I hope you are not getting too big for your britches!!!!! Also, great job Cougars for playing a hard game and for being the polite, upstanding young men that I like to see.
Big Slick
Why did you wait so long to post? Maybe they had to change to their varsity uniforms and forgot?

bigblueinsanity
If Elliott County's outside jumpers aren't falling this team could be in trouble.
