Barleycorn's coming to Florence

The new Barleycorn's will anchor the Pleasant Valley Commons development at U.S. 42 and Pleasant Valley Road in Florence. The 5,400 square-foot restaurant will have a 1,400 square-foot semi-covered outdoor patio.

"Because of the growing population within Boone County, we feel this is the ideal location for our new restaurant," said Ken Heil, who co-owns Barleycorn's with his brother Joe. "We are thrilled to be part of this new, prestigious Hemmer development and look forward to serving our new neighbors in Florence."

Paul Hemmer Cos. broke ground last fall on Pleasant Valley Commons, a $7 million mixed-use retail development that calls for 10,000 square feet of retail and office space adjacent to Barleycorn's. The restaurant is slated to open in late summer.

It will be the fourth Barleycorn's restaurant in Greater Cincinnati. The company has locations in Lakeside Park, Cold Spring and Dayton.

I just hope they have outdoor dining with entertainment like they do in Lakeside Park. This is just great, great news.....

Seems like a very appropriate place for a Barleycorn's. I really enjoy this place, just wish the picthers were a tad cheaper.

They'll have a presence in all three counties now. Great news for Boone Co. I love both the Lakeside Park and Cold Spring locations. Although, I have to admit, I wish Cold Spring had a set-up that was more similar to Lakeside Park.

I've never eaten at Barleycorn's. Is it worth the trip?

They're cheaper than most other places in this area....

Worth the visit. bet you a beer the bartender/waitress will know your name after a couple of visits.

Yes. Good food and good atmosphere. The best time to go is during the warm months to sit out on the patio.

They just cleared some land near the intersection of Pleasant Valley and 42.

Is it going to be just west of that car wash where they cleared the land. I think they paved most of it as well.

You got it. Right next to the Car Wash, on the Pleasant Valley Side...

 

Sonic's $1 menu is legit, too. The Chicken Finger sandwich is pretty good.

They're cheaper than most other places in this area....

 

Not Skyline, Fort Thomas Pub, and regular beers are also cheaper at O'Charley's and Applebee's.
