Certainly seems that now the Democratic idea of bipartisan cooperation is the Republicans voting how they want them to. Thank goodness for the filibuster. I hope Mitch has the stones to hold his ground.

I don't have a real problem with that proposal, but I have real trouble believing that Limbaugh would have been so compromise-minded had McCain won ... he certainly wasn't during the Bush presidency.

 

I suspect that Rush only wants to be bipartisan when the Democrats are in control.

 

The way I see it Obama and the democrats see bipartisanship at this point going about 90-10. If the republicans are not satisfied with their 10% then they are not cooperating.

 

Maybe if all the republicans reach across the isle and and submit to all of these stimulus ideas the democrats have we'll all be drinking free bubblelubb and eating that rainbow stew.:puke:

For the sake of only playing devil's advocate:

 

They need a crew on the plane and they will need ground crew and maintenance staff.

 

That's about all though. I am fairly certain they could have better used that money in other ways.

I've said it before that I think Rush enjoyed the Clinton years much more than the Bush years.

I was stating what I believe conservatives feel about this situation we are in at this time. What I perceive from your posts in this thread is that you believe government is the answer to all our problems. If government is the answer to everything, why did not the government pass laws years ago to outlaw economic bad times and guarantee everyone a job for a lifetime with good wages? The reason is that government cannot do it, then or even at this time legislate our way out of this current situation.

 

As a conservative I beieve that I should be responsible for my immediate family and then my extended family, help others through my church's outreach programs and helping my neighbors when they experience difficulties.

This can be accomplished by all communities to one degree or another. I do also realize that there does need to be some aid to people, but that is far from the billions of dollars that the liberals want to toss around. I would support some infrastructure repair projects, as that helps to keep the economy rolling, literally.

I understand that Obama admits to using drugs in 1 of his books. Could someone verify that please? If so, maybe the 2 could go to a 12-step program together.
