Very good player. Part of a loaded GRC sophomore class.

Knipp at Elliot

I will be surprised if he finishes at Elliott.

 

Arnold of Holmes is slowly making his way on the radar among colleges scouts. He played 17u as a 14 yr old over the summer and averaged around 15 ppg.

 

At 6'6 his ability to play inside or out on the perimeter as a guard is definetly going to help his stock rise over the next 2 years.

Nice player, but his on-court demeanor and body language leaves a lot to be desired.

 

You could also add Rogers, Purvis, and Zollo as well. GRC's soph. class is loaded.

Hands down will be the best team in the state in two years.

 

Shanklin from Warren Central

Fant is pretty good too. Shanklin is getting a lot of mail from D-1 schools.

 

Treg Setty and Neal Pawsat at Mason Co.

 

2 young studs.

I like Setty and he should end up being better than his brother, in my opinion.

2010, the 10th will be a bloodbath.

Maybe the same....maybe more but it's an honest question to ask and other people have different opinions. Arnold did not play significant minutes as a freshmen when the games were on the line. He is the 7th man this year on a Holmes team that is outstanding but depth is not a strength. When I look at the impact that some of the other sophs have had in N Ky they have performed just as well if not better than Arnold. They have been difference makers in big games against quality competition. And I do believe that if some of these players were on Holmes roster they would see minutes.

 

Arnold didn't play when the game was on the line because Holmes was so deep last year and an injury midway through the season sidelined him for the rest of the year.

 

It's much easier for the other sophs to shine when they don't have the same talent around them as Arnold does. Anyone who saw him over the summer playing at the 16u level as a 14 yr old and averaging 15 ppg, knows that this kid is a player.

It is a generalization to say that just because a kid doesn't play for Holmes he wouldn't play on that team. If some of these players had been brought up thru the system at Holmes and had an opportunity they would be playing significant minutes at Holmes, maybe the same maybe more than Arnold.

 

Henley would like to go 10 deep if he had the depth. I think there are a few sophs in NKy he wouldn't mind having an opportunity to coach and add to his current rotation.

 

As far as the AAU some of the players on this list have also played at a national level in the NCAA certified events with great success and will have that opportunity again this year.

 

I am going to lob you a softball....who did Arnold play AAU for last summer, who else was on the team and what did they average per game?

Arnold and Thelen... are good players. Attitude and team concept count big on my best players. Both have glaring weakness in their games. Arnold needs to work on ball handling and moving to his right. At his height he doesn't like to get under the basket and rebound. Thelen's defense needs to improve along with his outside shot. Every kid has things to work on. These kids are good but its my opion I would like Geisler for my big man.

Holmes isn't 24th in the country and ranked because of Arnold! I saw play very little AAU because he had trouble sticking with any one team. Really not trying to bring him down. He is a good player just attempting to give ETA RHO a reality check. Holmes is the real deal not sold on Arnold. Sorry

Arnold played all summer with the Queen City prophets and once again will play with them this summer. There is no doubt about Arnold's talent just ask Henley and look at his JV season last year. The injury last year slowed his progress some, but if you look at the last six or seven games he has been coming on strong, cracking double figure in limited minutes multiple times. For him it just a matter of getting on the court. How many 6'6 soph. who shoot from the outside and get to the rim are there in 9th. I haven't seen any without a Bulldog jersey. Basketball is a game of match up's. A 6'6 wing player who can shoot and get to the rim will always be a match probelm for any team in the 9th region.

The only teams ranked in the top 20 in nky are Holmes, Boone, and Highlands...none of the players mentioned are from any of those three schools except Arnold. I didn't meant to imply that they wouldn't play at all, they just wouldn't get as much playing time as Arnold is getting, which again goes back to him being the better player. None of those kids listed match up well with Arnold because at 6'6, he isn't a true post man. Arnold is the most versatile soph in nky. I think we can atleast agree on that, hopefully.

That's great that those other kids played AAU at a national level..it will only make NKY basketball better. My point was though, how many of those kids were playing up TWO age levels and still averaging double figures and being one of the better players on the team?

 

Arnold played with the 16u Queen City Prophets this past summer with Rico, JJ, and Pittman. Pittman was the only one who averaged more PPG than Arnold.

 

Please don't think I'm trying to criticize the other kids, I'm just stating facts. I do some work on the side for a local Rivals site and every scout that you talk to echoes the same about Arnold and considers him the best prospect out of NKY.
