Good win for Elliott. I think a game like this shows they aren't as far ahead of the rest of the competition as some think though.

I don't think I could agree with the how far they are ahead statement without having seen the game in person.

West is going to be tough at the end of the season, there only loses this season have come from Elliott.

 

Actually I think Ryle beat them 54-50 earlier this season, but I agree they are going to be a tough out come tourney time.

Ah, I think EC worried a little too much about the game in Sandy Hook, and the refs tonite. Don't know what their mind set was. Looking at them in warm-ups it looked as if they felt it woud be no contest. While West isn't the most talented team in the region, they have just as much heart and desire as any team in the 16th. They are scrappy!!! Nothing dirty tonight, just a good basketball game. At the end, Elliott's experience and talent payed off, and they took care of business. If they want to escape the 16th region they will have to take the other top teams seriously. While Elliott is the best hands down, on a given night a few teams in the region could trip them up. One almost did tonight.

Early consideration for area coach of the year has to go to Jeremy Webb. I think as far as overall talent 3 or 4 teams may have more, but he has gotten his boys to buy into his system and they play hard. Most people probably thought they'd only have about 3 wins now instead of only 3 losses. Congrats to Elliott on a hard earned victory.

Well put could not have said it better myself. I think Coach Webb is starting to come into his own as a coach. :thumb:

Great game to watch, Rayburn and the Comets were on fire in the first half. Elliott struggled a little in the half court on offense. An ugly win is still a win. I agree that Coach Webb is my early choice for 16th region C.O.Y. I wish more games had that kind of atmosphere.

Great game, close the whole way. I think West Carter just got a little fatigued down the stretch. Great officiated game and Elliott finished well with free throws.
