Agreed that few know he started at Dayton, but have to disagree when calling him the face of the program. His start at Dayton was less than spectacular, but we all know where he landed from there. Just don't know if he's the "face" of the program. More likely the "face of UCLA":thumb:

Choosing a QB is an easy selection, but If we're talking about running backs as faces of a program, what about Justin Frisk or HHS?

I agree that Justin Frisk was an excellent running back. I just think the Face of the Program should be someone that most people recognize. That's why I think Jared Lorenzen is the "Face" for Highlands.

There are different ways to read "the face of the program." Whenever I think of the Highlands football program, invariably and automatically Dale Mueller's face pops into my mind. Perhaps this is what the article was getting at.

There could be many possibities for Highlands, but for me the first name that popped into my head was Homer Rice. I just have always felt he set the foundation that has made Highlands what it is today.

I couldn't agree with you more! :thumb: Homer is the one that started the ball rolling with the National Record of 50 consecutive wins at HHS. I have a feeling Dale would agree with Homer as "The Face of Highlands Football." Homer started the foundation by developing the Ft Thomas Football program. A true pacesetter during the early '60s in the high school football arena.

My second choice would be the late Vi Gerding, the greatest fan ever!

Let's not forget that Homer Rice is the founding father of the Fort Thomas Jr. Football League. Also a huge contributor to the future success of Highlands football.

I think Vi Gerding is the face of Highlands! She was at every sporting event she could make, boys girls it didn't matter. Got to love a woman that has that much dedication. :thumb:

I would have to go with Brian Brohm as our face.....There are so, so many, but only one has been on SI's cover.

I didn't know about that. When was that? Is it a record recognized by the KHSAA and if not I wonder why not?

I would agree with that one, without a doubt. :thumb:

Agreed,Great choices! :thumb:

Not Northern Kentucky but the face of Leslie County High School Football is obviously Tim Couch. One of the greatest athletes in H.S. sports history.

Here's Tim in '95.

He didn't go anywhere in the regional final game in 95! The Birds SMASHED him!

What does that have to do with being the face of the Leslie County Program???
