These 2 teams have a small history against each other. I know back in 1989 in the first round of the playoffs Beechwood won bye the score of 21-20 or something like that. I think they played before that but I can't remember. Then in 1993 the first game of the year for us Hazard was beating us 20-12 with a minute left in the third down in Hazard. They had the ball on our 1 yard line when a big storm came. The game was called so they won 20-12. In the second game of the 1994 season we beat them 35-0 at our place. These 2 teams haven't played each since that game.

Hazard has the skill and speed players to give them problems, but they will have to play near perfect defense to have a chance. If they can get a couple of breaks, it could be interesting. I look for it to be closer than most expect.

Beechwood wins but I think it will be closer than we all think. Beechwood by 10 but I pull for the DAWGS! Good luck Hazard!

Can't help but note that back in '89 NONE of today's players were even BORN!! This year's SENIORS were born in '90 or '91! Makes a difference. In the players eyes, there IS no history!

I really don't know what type of offense Hazard runs, but if they can throw the ball they can give Beechwood some problems. They will have to shut down Beechwoods running game and I wish them luck with that. I see Beechwood doing about the same thing they did to us. Eventually wearing them down and taking over in the fourth quarter.

If the turnover battle is even, Beechwood by three TD's. I just don't think anyone can score more than 2 TD's against Beechwood's defense this year unless Beechwood turns the ball over and gives the opponent a short field. Hazard has to win the turnover battle to have a shot at pulling off the upset. The only game Beechwood was really contested in (and lost) was NCC when they turned the ball over 5 times.

Lets just hope the Hazard team makes it out of Hazard tomorrow morning. Unless there staying the night in Louisville. Heavy snow in Hazard tonight and supposed to last until 6am.
