No Jeff Hester is D-coordinator. I am sure being the HC French gets input but Hester is the D-coordinator.

Hester is one of the most intense coaches you could ever meet. Ask any who knows him. He is a great guy and coach.

I was there as a neutral as well. Here are some of my observations:

 

-Bell's defense will knock you out!!! They fly to the ball and when they get there, boy do they finish. As apparent on that 2Pt. convertion when it looked like the QB was gonna run it in easy, and someone came through like Ronnie Lott and knocked the ball five yards backwards along with the QB.

-Boyle has the best TACKLING defense I've ever seen. Well, except on that quick pass where the corner missed a tackle and a Bell receiver got down to the 1 or something. When they get to you, you're tackled.

-Boyle didn't utilize they stud receiver enough. I think he only caught a couple of balls. The QB wasn't really rushed all night, because it looked like Bell wasn't trying to get a pass rush, just trying to contain that TB(who is as quick as a skinned cat!!)

 

I agree with all the points made here. Boyle was VERY solid tacklers. When i first saw thim during the pre game warm ups, I thought they were going to have a rouch time getting our backs down, but they did awesome agint the run.

 

I look forward to Boyle-Bell take 2 next year. I don't know about Catholic being the most dangerous team in 4a next year though. Boone Goldsmith will be good if not great at qb next year, I think our only question mark next year is at receiver but I have faith that new faces will step up at receiver, quite possibly Brian Ferrell. He looked good at receiver in the jv games this year. Not to mention Rees will be back and LexCath had no answer for him in game 2 this year. If Bell is bringing back 7 on defense and 5-6 on offense, then I fully expect to see a Boyle-Bell rematch in Boyle County next year. LexCath doesn't scare me anymore, Bell does.

 

I hope the rematch does happen, and its as good as the game from this year, it was one of the best games I've personally ever watched, the last 5 minutes I dont think anyone from either side was able to sit down.:thumb:
