4 of those turnovers was caused by the Bobcat defense.

 

We'll just have to agree to disagree on this one. I say the two fumbles were forced by the defense, the interceptions(all 4) were just bad passes, imo. Especially the first one which was ran back for a td. This game was a recreation of the Lafayette game except Bell County is better than Lafayette.

Congratulations is definitely in order for Bell County. They made me eat my words as their passing attack hurt us all night long. Especially since we kept giving the receivers 10 yard cushions. I said it would take a passing attack to beat us and I was completely and totally off target by assuming Bell County couldn't pass. So much for the stereotypical mountain smash mouth team. The Bell County qb is the best qb we saw all year. He was accurate and on target and I am sure he threw less than 5 incompletions. Your receivers made catch after catch whether they had to dive or not and when the receivers weren't open, he hurt us with his legs. Great team and good luck next week.

Great game, and a tough one to lose for sure. You simply can't beat a good team when you turn the ball over 6 times. Both teams' defenses were spectacular tonight. Bell has a very nice facility and one of the best visitor sides I've seen outside of 6A. Bell is obviously the favorite next week and I wish them the best of luck.

I know my throat is killing me from all the cheering. Good game Bobcats, you guys should have a great time next week at papa johns. I know the Rebels shot thierselfs in the foot a few times tonight, but both teams should be proud of thier programs putting on one heck of a show. Thanks to the all the Rebel fans for getting out and supporting your team, and thanks to the Bobcats for hosting a great game. Your facilities and all the folks I came in contact with tonight were top notch. Good luck at state.

 

As for my rebels. At least the loss came from a program like Bell County and not some VMI team. I look for us to really be a more powerful program next season with all of our returning talent.

The Rebels are a great football team Pride92. Some of the best LB play I have seen. I was very impressed with #8 and his route running and made some very nice catches tonight.

 

This is one of the deepest groups of talented receiver's I beleive that has ever been on a Bell Co. team. They were the difference tonight.

Way to go Bobcats, we knew you all could do it. Boyle gave us a great game. Both teams are good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I drove 2.5 hours to watch this game. By far the best game I seen all year. Congrats Bell Co and good luck in the pizza box!

This night was about promoting our kids, programs and sportmanship and I agree with ya Rebel I think tonight was successful on all counts.

Thanks, Rebel. I was tough to see the tears flowing on the field from the Rebels after the loss. Too bad one team had to lose. I thought both teams played with class and sportmanship tonight. Hard fought game. One of the best I have ever seen at the high school level. Last year the Bobcats....mostly the same team were the ones in tears knowing that their regional loss was to the eventual state champion to be. This year should be no exception....and that's what makes it so hard for the loser. The 4-A Title game is next week....but 4-A's two best, I believe, met on Log Mountain tonight. Perhaps Aumiller and Merrick will both be in Blue and White and on the same team next year on Saturdays!

I'll will always believe that we should have won this game. No one will be able to convince me other wise. We played our worst game of the season in the state semis on the road on a cold unofficial winter night on a field right next to a mountain where you could here the "who ya wit...rebels" chants from the elementary school parking lot next to the walkway(thanks for the tip, Leonidas, we got out of the parking lot and on the highway in less than 2 minutes;)). I am not bashing Bell County, nor will I, and I am not trying to take anything away from them, but we beat ourselves. I truly hate it for each and every player because I know they could be blaming themselves, but we need to leave it on the field. We may not have played our best, but we played hard and we played our hearts out. I think what will hurt our boys so much is knowing that we didn't play our best and we lost because of it. I just want to say I am proud of our boys and we must now move on to bigger and better battles. For those of you coming back next year, keep keeping on, we will be back. For those of you moving on, best of luck in life, we'll see you in the stands next fall when we host Bell County for the rematch. I am at a loss of words, I just feel really bad for our boys right now.

 

Keep your heads up, we had a great year, Rebel pride has been restored and despite the loss tonight, the Rebels are back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your whole team is deep at the skilled positions. I only knew the qb's name. Me and my buddy just called out numbers because it was always someone different doing something to hurt us. Too many different names to remember. You guys have a plethora of guys that perform very well. I wasn't expecting the athleticism that you guys displayed tonight and like I said earlier, I was completely blown away by your passing attack and the efficiency of it. The people I was sending updates to couldn't believe you guys were killing us with the pass. Very impressive.
