2 great road wins for the birds. The communities of Paintsville and Williamsburg rallied together to try and bring down the mighty birds but the birds proved to be too tough. On to the "pizza box" our home away from home.

 

Collinsworth's 3rd and 13 reception was huge to keep the opening drive going.

 

Buten's 85 yard touchdown was a dagger after the "bend but don't break D" forced a fumble on 4th down inside the 20. He could be on pace for a HHS record for average yards per catch in a season.

 

Ollie Head continued to make hard hitting tackles from the safety position and the defense can up big when it had to.

 

O-line was again very solid... Great team win! Bring home #18!

Great Win for Highlands, I was very impressed with the Bluebirds. They are very coached and execute.

 

I thought that when the Colonels seniors who were taking their "Final Lap" passed the Bluebird players and supporters still on the field, the showed respect to the Colonel players and offered high fives and some in the stands were clapping. That showed class, and I heard more than one person comment on it.

 

Good Luck next week in Louisville, I will be pulling for the Bluebirds

Yeah, I was really hoping Corey Compton would take his run to the house. Big yardage, but not enough time left on the clock and another score would have been a bit much. Looks like the running game for the next few years will be in good hands.

Could be a nice homecoming of sorts for Coach Black. Especially since his Mama grew up in the Fort :sssh:

 

Love the facilities at Whitley Co. The layout is excellent. The hospitality of the Whitley County folks was great. I loved the signs on the exits ramp and on the road to the school.

 

Congrats to Whitley on a great season!
