Congrats to the Colonels. Those kids had an awesome season and will be able to build from here to be even more successful. They did Whitley County proud!

Not surprised by this score. Every week some get on here and talk about Highlands better not overlook them and every week it's the same story. Highlands is primed to win #18. IMO their toughest game was the region final.

Wanted to get back on here and offer a big CONGRATULATIONS to the Birds on the game! I also want to give a shout out to the Colonels and their fans. Great atmosphere for the game last night. I was really impressed with the signs, tunnel, balloons, fireworks, etc. Keep building on what you've accomplished. Birds, stay focused on what you need to do to bring home the hardware Friday.

I thought the play of the game was when Coach W called a timeout and "discussed" tackling techniques with his defense.

 

 

 

The picture doesn't do it justice. We were close enough to feel the fury as he lit into these kids. Pretty impressive, and it really seemed to make a difference.

:DThis was right after he heard the WC defender approaching and hit another gear. My camera was still coming up to power or the shot would have shown the defender a lot closer. Austin felt him coming and accelerated his slow feet away from him.

Notice how you can't see the player's breath in the picture? Think maybe they were all holding them? Reminds me of my dad. We were all twice his size and scared to death of him. Good use of a timeout.
