What are you doing for Thanksgiving?

Featured Replies

For me I have two meals.

I first go to my dad's parents where I see most of his family.

Then after that I go to my moms family and see them.

Alot of good eating.

What about the rest of the BGP Nation what will you be doing on Thanksgiving?

We usually drive down to W. Ky to see my mom and brother, but this year we have to stay put because my son has football practice Thanksgiving morning so we are going to invite my mom to come here for Thanksgiving.

Mostly napping.... Turkey + Me = sleepy

We as a family will attend Mass at 9am to thank God for all the wonderful things he has given us. We will them come home and my wife and daughter will fix "The Boyfriend" and I a wonderful breakfast, while they watch the parade. We will then head on over to my Mother-in-laws home where there will be close to 60 family and friends for dinner at 6pm. There we will as a group will stand around the dinning room/living room holding hands and Thanking God for the wonderful life he has given us all. It is something I have done now for close to 40 years and I wouldn't miss it for the world. So many wonderful announcement have been made from engagements, to births, to just being happy to be alive and healthy. It is my favorite family holiday and the best thing this year is my daughter will be home for it all and I will get my Daddy kisses and Daddy hugs. Life couldn't get better.....

Not sure, my mother is working [as a nurse, all night] lol, so I could probably just head to my grandmothers, but as far as I know, daddy might be making dinner...eek.

Working at Big Lots from 9:30am-3:30pm

Traveling from Morehead to Pikeville to make it in time for my family's Dinner

Stop at Inlaw's as well.

And last but not least try and get my mother to give me Rock Band 2 early.

No plans thus far, my dad works on the River and is never home and my brother always goes to Louisiana to see his mom's family (we're half brothers). All my dads family in Texas, and my mom's family is all in Mississippi, so I'll probably get dinner from Cracker Barrell and watch some football!

Dinner with my family in Louisa.... drive to Lexington and dinner with wifey's family there. Hopefully get to watch the Cowboys. Chill Friday maybe head over to the Boyle/Lex Cath game if I can get away. Going to the Tenn/UK game (1st time ever going to UT I have friends coaching on both staffs) then we are staying in the Gatlinburg area for a few days with the kids. I'm sure we will hit up the outlet malls before Christmas.

We have two Thanksgivings.

Thursday we go to Nicholas Co. to be with my Dad's side of the family.

Friday will be get up and drive west to Princeton to be with my wife's family. Thanksgiving there this year will be on Saturday, so everyone can make it (including Uncle Tony!).

I'll be in LaRue and Nelson counties. Thanksgiving day I'll eat, drink wine, play rook/buck pitch, and watch football. Sometime I'll probably get with old friends and maybe head to the Sherwood Inn.

I am having Thanksgiving here and cooking for about 30 people. Today starts the pre-holiday hysteria. The kids are already cleaning their rooms, and I will be ironing tablecloths shortly.

I will be having Thanksgiving on Wednesday with my son, his girlfriend and my daughter. On Thursday, I'll work and they'll go to their dad's for Thanksgiving. After that, my son and his girlfriend have to head straight back to Evansville, as my son works in a mall, and will have to be back to get a good night's sleep before the nightmare of Black Friday.

I'll be going to my aunts for my first meal. Myself and my family, cousins, aunts and uncles will all be there.

My second meal will be at my girlfriends grandparents house. I've been with the girl almost three years and this will be my first thanksgiving at her place. The last two years they have had something like fish or crab cakes on Thanksgiving. I find this outrageous and Un-American so the last two years I have boycotted the meal at her place:lol:. This year they are having turkey so I will attend.
