November 23, 200817 yr Having the works at our house. This is the first year we have no parents to go and have dinner. It will be exciting to have everyone here. It is nice having the holiday in your own home. It can be a lot of work, but nothing better than the smell of turkey cooking in your house while your guests watch football!
November 23, 200817 yr MrRk and I are staying home this year and grilling steak. I just can't bring myself to go to a family thanksgiving without Mom being there (she died Oct 3rd). I hope that doesn't sound awful but I just am not having a good time with the holidays coming and I am going to do whatever I have to do for me to survive the season. So we have decided that we will spend our time off togther. Hopefully I will be able to do a family christmas but I'm not seeing that happen this year either. Perhaps I will get better in a month and be able to do it.
November 24, 200817 yr The only family that I still have are my 3 children, son-in-law and granddaughter. They will come to our house on Thursday. We have parent conferences(both teachers) on Tuesday nigth and then cook all day Wed. Our son will be home from MSU(the hs senior went back with him today). Can't wait to have the whole bunch together. I miss my parents terribly even after 15 years, they would have loved to seen my children.
November 24, 200817 yr We are headed to my parents house for breakfast, and then home for the kids to nap and then heading to FFs families house to dinner. After dinner we are headed to his cousins house for desert and then they play games and watch football. Should be a long eventful day.
November 24, 200817 yr We have two Thanksgivings. Thursday we go to Nicholas Co. to be with my Dad's side of the family. Friday will be get up and drive west to Princeton to be with my wife's family. Thanksgiving there this year will be on Saturday, so everyone can make it including Uncle Tony. Huh?? I wasn't invited!! :confused::lol::lol:
November 24, 200817 yr Lots of family coming over to the house. Sadly, it'll be the first Thanksgiving without seeing my dad, who died in April.
November 24, 200817 yr No plans thus far, my dad works on the River and is never home and my brother always goes to Louisiana to see his mom's family (we're half brothers). All my dads family in Texas, and my mom's family is all in Mississippi, so I'll probably get dinner from Cracker Barrell and watch some football! Rocket you can come to the TD compound and share dinner with me and fifty of immediate family members. Some are crazy so you would fit right in. :laugh::laugh::laugh:
