Yes, weightlifting is the last period of the day.

I believe it is scheduled at more than just last period.

I agree that strength and conditioning are a must in all sports programs and with out it your only wishing to have strong programs. Most pople on here only want things to get better, but your not going to find a single problem to correct and turn the entire direction of the football program around. A single strength and conditioning coach (teacher) sounds great, but just look at all the following: Each sport is different, no so much as different lifts but different types of conditioning during seasons. Basketball players need different lifts during football season, and football players need different lifts during the off season. Baseball players need totally different lifts than basketball players. So, if you have all these players in the strength and conditioning classes throughout the day this would be tough for a single full time person to show attention to every athlete. It would be better if you could place all your football, basketball, baseball players in classes together, but that would be tough from a scheduling situation. I believe the strength and conditioning classes are a good starting point, but remember everything that goes into it. Just remember that nothing works until YOU do.

Dont Eastmen and Jones help the Baseball team in weight lifting?

It's Todd Eastham and someone else.

That's what they need somebody who has a really good back ground in that area. It's a start!

You obviously know nothing of his background. First ask why he is not able to stay in any of the jobs that make up his background for what most people call a career!

Is this new strength and conditioning coach the same person who got into a screaming match with a bus driver because he ran a stop sign on a bus, and was also let go as a deputy sheriff?

Get the discussion back to the Football Coach or this one is done.

Stay focused Greenup County Fans, our coach search is ongoing...

All salaries, positions, personnel, etc. are paid for by the BOE.... the schools athletic department pays for armbands, cleats, etc....

It's my understanding that Mr. Coleman is a volunteer, and this is not a paid position.... he is retired KSP....I just hope his weight training philosophy, routines,, etc. match what the new coach wants.... if not things could get a little interesting....

Not retired and never KSP!

He did work for EKU as a strength and conditioning coach for the KSP recruits.

I believe it is scheduled at more than just last period.

Perhaps, but the football players are scheduled for the last period.

Football players have been scheduled to lift weights in the last period. I would be interested to find out how our new strength and conditioning coach oncre he is on the job is going to work all of the players in each specific sport, as was stated in a previous post, how is that going to work, can anyone shed some light on this without being pestimistic, no more negative attitudes, please, just state facts..:thumb:

What have you got against this person, so far you haven't stated a single fact about him and Dr. Hughes is pretty high on him from what I understand.:irked:

Not all football players - my son played football and he had a different time because of his Honors English Class. But it really doesn't matter - the boys have to want to be in there and give it their all. :thumb:

If GCHS is so poor maybe they should consider giving up football and putting that money towards the other sports or students, I don't mean this as mean just an idea

I think that when evaluating a talented coach with experience, you have to look at Jerry Lucas. He was an all-state QB at Greenup and has went on to be a head coach at Western Hills and currently the offensive coordinator at Shelby County. He is very adept at handling players and I think he has the temperment to handle the Musketeer Mafia.
