Surely this has to be written as a joke. I believe Title 9 would prevent such an idea of taking place anyway.

INEZ85 there is money in the Greenup school system believe me. They spent almost 150 thousand on new office furniture for the admin offices( I believe it was either over christmas last year) I know this because my brother in law sold it to them. So there is money they just have to put it towards the kids instead of themselves.

I meant no offense, I just don't understand how a large school can act so poor when it comes to its biggest athletic team, an a small school can beat up on them year after year and the administration sees no problem with that

I know in a previous thread it was mentioned about getting the boys rides to and from practce is this going to be done by the school like pick up and drop off points or is this being done by indivual people? I believe if there was some sort of transportation then alot more of the boys would have the chance to play.

 

Myself and a couple of other parents have offered to pick up kids and drop them off for practices to the administration and this could happen if we can work around the legalities of the deal, liability is key.

 

Mike Hampton will play with us getting him to and from practice and I would be willing to bet there are 10 more just like him, Dustin told me tonight he was 90% sure he was going to play, I really think it depends on the coach we get who plays and who doesn't, however, whoever it is they can count on my support in doing whatever needs to be done and I don't care at all to go before the BOE and lobby for whatever is needed...

When are they going to begin working on the field, weightroom and locker room? I would like to help.

I will also help, 10 Gallons of bleach and a powerwasher should fix the showers! .:creepy: I will also help with transportation. We have always given rides to boys and will continue to do so

The bottom line is...The next coach at GC has got to get this team at the top! He needs to get all the talent in the school, find the type of offence that best suits this team, and work them like crazy in the wieght room and at practice! Do that and GC will be right where they need to be in August!!

Ahh pure fan, you are beginning to be my favorite BGP member. Just because my team outscored our opponets 122 to 0 in the regular season this year, doesnt mean I could do the same with high school boys. Alright enough bragging on my JFL boys. Alot of these boys have had me coaching them for at least a year or two in their football past, and I would love nothing more than to see them get a great new coach and win like they all did for me all the way through JFL.

Not trying to knock Greenup County School system but they have never spent money wisely. I think it was about 6 or 7 years ago they had bought new furniture. Must have worn out quick. I know they spent alot on the Board of Education building when they had cheaper and better options that could have saved then thousands. But I must admit I do commend them in getting the school tennis courts and a soccer field. They have needed them for quite some time.

How can you say that they see no problem with a small school beating up on them... Sammons resigned didn't he....you think he did this on his own, with at least some sort of pressure for the admin???

I have a friend who I would love to see coaching GCHS. He was an assistant with McPeek when he was at Greenup and now is an assistant at Fairview. He is happy where he is at, but if the stars were alligned maybe he would consider it.

I agree with your comments about the BOE building, tennis courts and soccer field... but what "furniture" are you talking about??? I'm a little lost on this one with your comment that the system has never spent its money wisely... I think that the new coach should be given what the need to succeed... but remember that schools HAVE to be smart about how they do things.... there is still something out there called Title IX... I don't agree with it, but that's just how things are...
