Is it me or has Joker's playcalling gotten real conservtive since he was named the head coach-in-waiting?

:thumb: I hate to be negative but based on his play calling I am having second thoughts on how I feel about him being the next head coach...

The facemask penalty was correct. Calling for a screen on 1st down with 4 chances to score from 10 or so yards out when you have ran the ball with alot of success the whole game was insane. The defense gave up way too many big pass plays. And finally the Cats just keep finding ways to lose.

Tough loss for the Cats. It was a great game and one that proves again the Cats can play in the SEC!

Are you happy with being able to just "play" in the SEC though?

I agree that the fasemask penalty was correct, look at the tape, how in the world did Cobb even throw the ball in that direction? One heck of a game to watch, thank goodness for the DVR.

This could be the year UK defeats UT.

I actually feel the call of a facemask was the wrong call. He didn't grab the facemask. it should've been a roughing the passer penalty but that's semantics. Don't question the screen call, it appeared as though, if the UGA player hadn't made a crazy play, it goes for 15+.

Why do we roll a left handed QB to his right? He has to throw across his body when this happens. Why not do the roll outs to the left?

1) RP, love the class and respect you show whether it's a win or loss.

2) Was I the only one that felt it pull at their gut watching Cobb cry on the sideline after the game? He knew he screwed up and felt terrible...

Agree with the first,

And for the second, yeah it has to tug at you a little bit. Before he leaves Cobb will be one of the most beloved Wildcats to have ever played at Commonwelath. Up there with Couch and those guys and more than likely doing it at many positions.

After the game, Cobb was the last one heading into the locker room (along with 2 other guys). The remaining fans at the tunnell gave him one heck of an ovation.

It has gotten more conservative this year but I think it is because of how young we are on offense and he calling to the strengths of the players.

You're right, it doesn't matter because the pass was incomplete and the penalty enforcement ended up the same. But the referee got the call right; it wasn't roughing the passer because the ball had not yet been thrown when the foul occurred.

NCAA Rule 9-1-2(l)...No defensive player shall charge into a passer or throw him to the ground when it is obvious the ball has been thrown.

However, it was a face mask foul even though he grabbed the helmet opening below the ear hole and not the mask itself.

NCAA Rule 9-1-2(q)...No player shall twist, turn or pull the face mask or any helmet opening of an opponent.

^ un-neccesary roughness is where I was looking......keep in mind, you can't contact the QB's head while he is behind the line, with the ball.

Mossaquoi is a beast.....Lindlay is world class, but so is the latter. Great game Cats, don't sweat this loss. You proved you belong.

Lindley sat out a lot of the second half, must have been hurt?

He didn't touch Cobb's face mask; the defender grasped the helmet opening under the ear pad and twisted his head around.

That's still a face mask foul.

I don't believe it is......the ear hole, maybe, but it is not a facemask.

I disagree, there was nothing there but Bulldogs. Also the facemask call was correct.
