November 9, 200817 yr Great game, I really thought UK would pull this one out. Stafford killed the UK secondary, and Moreno was great on the ground. Great effort by the Cats, a lot of momentum going into next weekend..
November 9, 200817 yr I don't believe it is......the ear hole, maybe, but it is not a facemask. I am an NCAA ref. My season ended early this year due to an injury, so I'm stuck watching my friends officiate on TV and cruising the message boards for rules questions. So far, it's been a slow weekend for controversy (good for them, boring for me.) But they got this call correct; it was a foul for grasping and pulling the edge of the helmet opening below the ear pad. Same signal and enforcement as a face mask foul, but not quite as common. Remember that NFL rules are different from NCAA rules; sometimes (actually, the majority of the time) even the announcers get them confused.
November 9, 200817 yr Why you keep trying to play man with Lindley on the bench I couldn't figure out. I was more dissapointed with Browns play calling than Jokers. If you put up 38 you should win.
November 9, 200817 yr Very entertaining game to watch. Give the Bulldogs credit, they made one more play the the Wildcats.
November 9, 200817 yr Ouch...that one will leave a mark. Didn't get to watch game completely, and have taped it, but watched as much as I could. Never thought UK would score 38. Thought it would have to be low-scoring for UK to have a chance. Glad to see UK get off the mat after falling down 14-0 quick. Had a chance but didn't cash in. Bottom line, UK will not be in Music City Bowl...one more win and I think they get the Chick-Fil-a Bowl, if not they will be Walking in Memphis.
November 9, 200817 yr There is undoubtedly no team in the history of college football that is better than UK at one thing... -Playing better than expected, continuing to make play after play all game long that you don't think they can make, keeping the game close, making more plays that you didn't think possible until finally, as a fan, you're suckered into getting your hopes up...and then they drop the hammer by finding a way to blow the game (or the reasonable chance they had to win the game). Sometimes they do it by old stand-by's like the common turnover...other times they find amazingly creative and epic ways to lose, like letting a team with one play left, compete a 60 yard pass down the their 20 and then run the rest of the way for a game-winning TD. Kudos to the Wildcats for proving that they haven't lost their touch and showing us fans that they will do everything they can to continue to "sucker" us into getting our hopes up, and that they will staunchly defend their title as the best team in college football at doing this and blowing games.

LOL, very true statement and I have been watching them for over 35 years. They will find a way to break your heart. When they lost on the miracle hail mary to LSU when Guy Morris was there, I was watching with my grown son. When UK scored, he was jumping all over the room celebrating the win...they even dumped the water bucket on Morris. I told him not to get ahead of himself...this is KY. He replied that NOBODY, even UK, could lose this one. Well, we know the rest. I used to compare being a UK fan to being a coyote fan vs. the Roadrunner. It always looked like the coyote had him, but the Roadrunner always pulled it out! Very good post. Im glad Im not the only one who feels this way. I am so glad to see UK "finishing" the deal these last few years!!:thumb:
November 9, 200817 yr I LOVED the timeout call by Rich at the end of the 3rd Quarter to make UGA punt into the wind.

November 9, 200817 yr I did too! Some guys behind me were flipping out about wasting a timeout, I had it out with them. After the punt, I just turned around and smiled.
November 10, 200817 yr I hate taking a timeout to the dressing room. We should have called a timeout when it was third and two. Make sure your young QB knows what you want.

I said if any team is capable of allowing an opponent to score an 80-yard TD with one play to blow a 4-point lead, it's UK. And, of course, they didn't let me down... ...sort of... So frustrating sometimes to be a UK football fan. But, the fact that they've actually won a few of these games the past 2 or 3 seasons shows there making progress.
