On another note, I was awakened at 6 AM this morning to the sounds of sirens again. Initially, I thought the Raceland fans were still out celebrating with the emergency vehicles. Shortly after that, though, I heard and saw the paramedic helicopter landing in Flatwoods so there must have been a wreck.

Good one RP. If I had heard them I would have headed over to the football field. Unfortunately I was at work at 4:30 this morning.

On a sad note, if they called in the chopper it must have been bad. I hope no one was seriously hurt.

I have enjoyed reading your insight on all your post. I certainly would not let anyone dictate what I wanted to do. If you enjoy posting on BGP then I would continue to do so. If the people you mention don't approve of what you post then tell them to read other forums. Just my opinion.

They're playing the game on channel 24 as we speak. And Russell still can't tackle.

I agree. A lot of people, including myself at times, have complained about Russell's play this season, but I see nothing to complain about after this game. They gave all they had. In my eyes, what many are calling "poor tackling" was simply because many of Russell's guys

aren't as powerful and explosive as Raceland's backs, particularly Denton. I still contend the largest part of this game was won in the weight room for Raceland in the offseason. They're a strong looking team.

Regardless of what Russell's record is, IMO they are still a good football team. You can't go 10-0 & 9-1 etc. every year. 6-4 is still a good regular season record and now a new season begins for the Devils where every opponent begins 0-0. Abrams is a very good RB and I was impressed with the Cordle kids arm.

In reference to your comment about Denton & Raceland backs being powerful, I totally agree. It is hard to find two guys in the same backfield that run with wreckless abandon like these two do. Regardless of what classification they play in, IMO Denton & Carver are as good as any RB's in the state and their O-line play & blocking skills of their WR's compliment them well.

If Russsell can give the effort they gave last night they can make a run in the playoffs.
