October 27, 200817 yr Probably not. I see Cobb starting at QB based on his ability to lead the team down the field this past Saturday.
October 27, 200817 yr One difference between the two I noticed Sat.When Hartline throws a ball out in the flat he never looks downfield. He just looks at the receiver and throws it.The defense sees that and get to the ball quickly. When Cobb does that he actually looks downfield for someone and then throws in the flat.At least the defense thinks he may throw down the field even if he is not supposed to.
October 27, 200817 yr Here's a CJ article about the QB situation: http://www.courier-journal.com/article/20081027/SPORTS03/810270477/1002/SPORTS
October 27, 200817 yr As a non UK fan, I would like to see Cobb play just for the sake of them having a good chance of winning. Hartline is not the answer at QB for the cats this year.

October 27, 200817 yr Guess we'll see if I was right or wrong. But if Cobb has no one to open this weekend to through it to remember I defended starting Hartline. If Cobb has 300 yards passing I will gladly eat my words in celebration of UK's 6th win this season.
October 27, 200817 yr Put Lindley back there since he is the best player on the team. It can't be any worse! I am being sarcastic but really it wears me out how UK's offense and special teams play this year. UK has the best defense I remember them having. If the offense + special teams would quit turning the ball over they can play with anybody when healthy! They have a GREAT punter and the defesne is loaded. Blocked kicks for scores, returned int's for TD's is not acceptable. Protect the ball, take some shots downfield to soften the defense and move the chains. The defense will keep them in games! I don't see how in the world you don't give Cobb a chance at QB. I know he will be a WR next year but this game they are playing for a bowl! Then you've watched UK long enough to know that they never have a complete team. This defense is made up largely of the same players who prevented them from rising above 8-5 the last two years when the offense was lights out. Now that they've "matured" into a good unit, guess what? The offense has turned over and can't produce 30+ points on a consistent basis. Now these guys on defense know how the rest of the team felt because of them the last two years.

If Cobb has 300 yards passing I will gladly eat my words in celebration of UK's 6th win this season. They've got nearly identical completion %s and Cobb is averaging 1.5 yards more per attempt. Cobb is averaging 4.7 yards per rush though as opposed to Mike's -.5
