Russell does not have to play a flawless game. Just limit penalties and hope Raceland tries to go to the air a few too many times. This is Raceland's Super Bowl so maybe their high emotion will drain them. McGlone's teams never seem to ge too high or low and maybe that will play to their advantage.

 

Sorry to bust your bubble, but you must hang out with BurnOut. Raceland wants to win this game about as much as West Carter no more and no less! We go out each week 0-0 and try to TCB. Yes we want bragging rights for the County but it is not our super bowl. We take pride in winning our district. Since you didn't win yours, maybe this is Russell's super bowl, you need to win this one way more than Raceland. Yes, 9-0 would be great, but we TCB in our district and tonight is JUST a game to help us prepare for playoff football as DISTRICT CHAMPS! I am sure you need to be 7-3 a lot worse than we need to be 9-0. Just my opinion.:thumb:

It is games like this that makes high school football great! I think it is safe to say that both sides want to win this game equally as bad. If they don't, then we should question why they came out to be on the football team in the first place. Sure, the state championship is what every team in Kentucky plays for, but since there are only 6 of those every year, it is games like tonight's that makes the journey trying to get there so much fun.

 

Somebody needs to call WLGC, though, and tell them not to start their broadcast an hour early tonight! ;-)

This is a pride game/rival but far from a season down here. Russell means absolutely nothing when it comes to this teams games that really matter (playoffs).

I know. I was just giving you a hard time! Sorry for my poor attempt at humor. ;-)

 

Other than the state championship game, I don't think either team will see an atmosphere this exciting the rest of the season. The miles that separate the teams that both Russell and Raceland will meet in the playoffs usually lowers the crowds for those games. You have to be a hardcore fan (like a message board poster or something) to travel a few hours to watch your team play! Tonight's game will draw out the more "casual fan".
