Since Raceland began playing football, I believe there is only 5 or 6 losing seasons. The curse that Raceland has had in the past 25 years is playing against Beechwood's district in Round 1. NKY is a different breed, their district #4 is sometimes as good as or better than most teams in our area. If you look at who Russell, Ashland, Boyd Co. or any other local team normally plays in the first 2 rounds, there is no comparison. I know when you get deeper, you play Belfry and Breathitt, so don't throw that at me. But who have you really played in the 1st two rounds of the playoffs in recent years?

With district re-alignment, we have gotten a breather, LCA is either week 2 or 3. Haha.

I cannot, without looking it up tell you the number of times/years that the team that we lost to in the first couple of rounds were the eventual State Champion. NKY for years and years was just a different level of football, all of the teams there were much better than our district and most districts in the state.

NKY is still a premier area for football but our district I believe has greatly improved through the years. Right now I believe that LCA and Racland can play with just about anyone in the state (class A) and are better than most. These two are also better programs than a lot of much bigger schools. JMO

He is not out,he is going to give it a go and see how he feel's,possibly just offensively.From a source that knows.Being senior night and big rivalry game,he will play.

the Ramblers began playing football in 1929. That's a lot of years. Inside the locker room there used to be, and may still be, a Wall of Fame. Every winning season was on the wall with that years record. there were very few absent years on the wall.

Not talking about the other district's #1 & 2, but there 3 & 4. I would put northern ky 3 & 4 against those district 3 & 4. Newport Central was a #3 seed in 2006 and won the whole thing. Ashland has tough road this year with the northern district. But when they were 4A and played against Bell & Rock's district, there 1st round games were cupcakes.

Raceland has had a couple of good teams the last couple of years. I don't think this suddenly turns into a great program over the course of a great group of kids coming through' date=' does raceland even have a district Championship? Hopefully Raceland will become a better overall program after this season, but from the looks of things it will go back to the old Raceland who will get manhandled by most schools in the area year in and year out. So while most people feel Raceland should win this game and have a good post season, I'd say over the next 10 years they will be lucky to keep within 150 total points with either Ashland or Russell.[/quote']

 

Now I'm not considered a Raceland person but even I reconize that the Rams have a great tradition in Raceland. Just a good couple of teams? That' laughable!! Just look at their record against Ashland over the past 20 years. I'm not sure exactly what it is but they have quite a few wins at Putnam. That tells me that they have a pretty good program there in Raceland. A small school like that is not supposed to beat a big school like Ashland consistently unless the have a tradition. Raceland is usually the team doing the manhandling against most area schools. This post is just laughable.

I am glad that you see some posters other than BurnOut need to do their homework. They seem to do homework for only their team.
