Ashland would not win a 3A champioship. Just realize Russell is down a bit this year and will still have a respectable year. I do realize that that's probably not good enough for most Russell fans, considering their past success.

I think Ashland could win in 3A. Not only that but they sure have a shot at winning the 5A.

Let's get back to Russell and Mason County, discussion.

:thumb:

Russell will win Because they will be back at Russell. They play better at home. They will be ready I can feel it.

Russell - 28

Mason - 19

Not as close as people think. Russell comes out strong.

Wow !......:rolleyes:I think I remember seeing a few of the same comments and under estimating from the Russell fan base going into the Ashland game as well.

Good luck tomorrow night, should be fun to watch !

Russell will run and find a way to win! Coach Mcglone just too smart for them.

I hear Bailey is going to try and play. If he can, I think Mason will have a tough time stopping Russell. I don't think Mason can get in the backfield like Ashland did and disrupt the Devils offense.

Russell is a football team that is drenched in tradition, but these Devils have seem to lost the way. They don't have that Russell mentality of I'd just assume hit you as look at you. Coaching will take Russell so far, but the kids have to win in October. Mason will always have some athletes that can make plays in space and will always be well coached. I'm taking the Royals in this one.

Mason: 28

Russell: 14

I really think that Russell will reach down and find a way to win this one and continue their streak at "the hank".

Russell 15

Mason 14

If I had the chance I would change my prediction due to the current weather forecast. I think Russell will have the advantage on a sloppy field and playing at home. Coach McGlone's ground and pound will be hard to stop, and I don't know if Mason will be able to take advantage of Russell's pass defense on a slippery night. Good luck to both teams and I hope they play injury free.

Anyone have any insight as to how Russell's new field should hold up under these conditions? Looks like this game is going to be a real mudbath. Who will win might come down to who can hang on to the ball.

So how much has Mason improved since the Ashland scrimmage? If they haven't improved drastically this should not be a very close game. Both of Russell's losses came to teams with twice the depth of Russell and to two teams who would win the 3A state championship.

I didn't see a kid on MC's team who I thought would start anywhere on Russell's team.

Theres some bulletin board material for ya. I'm thinking Thompson would compete for a spot at RB.

I really think that Russell will reach down and find a way to win this one and continue their streak at "the hank".

Russell 15

Mason 14

Simon Kenton ended that streak last year, and Breathitt also took them down on top of the "R"
