The teams that have done that, have had a pretty decent size advantage over the Royals. ( individually and overall team numbers).

Russell has the all important home advantage... Royals by 3!

Thats right, with the shortened field..... no back of the end zone passes for the Royals this week !

Just joking, that drums been beat to to death..........:p

My honest opinion is Russell need's a lot more "we" and less "me" and someone need's to step up and be a leader on the field. The last few years there has been one or more player's leading there team and i have yet to see that this year,if someone doesnt step up and be a leader, i think it will be a very short play off run for the Devil's this year.

That’s a true statement. From the 98 season to the present time, Russell enjoys a 7 – 1 record against Mason Co. That single loss came in 2001. Also during this time span, Russell beat Mason in 2007 and 2002 playoff games. It’s worth noting that from 2003 through 2006, Russell did not play the Royals during their brief stay in what was then Class 3A.

This is a home game for the Devils and that may give them enough of an advantage to pull of an upset. Neither of these two teams are as strong as in recent years…but it’s a district game and I expect both will be primed and ready to give it their best effort.

:thumb: Painter, this is just another one of your very good post.

Mason Co has a very good HB Thompson.

Look for him to have a good game. :thumb:

Thompson is superb. If he has a good game, Mason wins.

Mason in a close one 28-27.

Mason County and Russell have had very similar seasons. They have soundly beaten 6 inferior opponents and been soundly beaten by the 2 quality opponents that each have faced. Mason County has the most impressive of those losses, a 10 point loss at Boone County. This is an all important district game with the winner getting home field advantage in the 2nd round of the playoffs. It is the most important game of the season up to this point for both teams and quite possibly will define the season for both teams.

Mason Co.-35

Russell-14

I must say, though, that I am very surprised at the poll percentages leaning as heavily as they are towards Mason County and I am shocked at some of the scores being predicted. Many of you really think Mason is going to have an easy time with Russell. This game is at Russell and Russell won both of last year's games against Mason by 1 and by 5...very close games. Some of you must think Russell's football program has taken a real nose dive!

Field position will determine this game. Mason may want to put the fly kicks in their pocket for this week. Cannot give Russell the ball on the 35 or 40 yard line and give them a 60 or 65 yard field.

I sure hope Mason has improved by 10 fold since they scrimmaged Ashland with the voting going the way it has. What'd they give up 5 TD's in the first half without Carter in the game? Ashland wasn't even on a roll like they are now, they are playing even better now then they were then.

Is Pawsatt OK? I had heard he got banged up last week?

Russell has the all important home advantage... Royals by 3!

Mason Co dosn't believe in home field ( court) advantage....

I do... I believe that Russell will win this one, but I hope that Mason Co can pull this one out.:thumb:
