October 20, 200817 yr I agree 100% that slavery is most definitely devaluing human life. Whether we see ANY human life as less than deserving to be lived and with the same freedoms as all should have, slavery and abortion are both wrong, ... but only one of them is legal, and that is abortion. The law of our land now allows unborn babies to be ... And it is currently legal. If the Freedom of Choice act passes (and Obama has stated that he would sign it instantly), no states would be able to restrict abortion in any way. Which means that abortions would be extended to late term and in a few cases, potentially funded by federal tax dollars. So not only will these young babies not have rights in the first 3 months, but none until they are delivered. You and I are pretty much on the same page. My main point in my earlier post was to point out that abortion is not the "first step" in the devaluation of human life for our nation. My point is that historically speaking we've devalued human life a lot and that set the stage for the current way in which some may be calloused towards viewing unborn life. :thumb:

It's like how we will charge a drunk driver with multiple counts of murder for a crash with a pregnant woman, yet she has the right to murder the same person so long as it's her choice. All that tissue inside her is either a human or it's not, why the double standard.

Neither is right and both should be against the law.

Sadly, that is where we're headed.
