Maybe our offensive line is not as big and as experienced as the Harlan Co. line since we don't have as many players to choose from. And they didn't completely stop us, one back had 110 yards rushing and another back had 100 yards rushing. Maybe your offensive coach had a better game plan than ours. I don't know.

 

On the other hand they only scored 7 points against us.

If Middlesboro is rebuilding now, wait until next year.

They haven't been that good in the 7-8 grade level for three or four years, since this year's seniors were in the eighth grade.

Holy Cow! That ranks 4th in the STATE ALL TIME in rushing yards in a single game! Only Henderson County in 1997, Bowling Green in 1996 and Paris in 1969 had more yards. I guess we really witnessed history last night. It didn't seem like that much damage was being done at the time, I guess because the game was always in question.

 

Well then, that makes this performance the best in this CENTURY!

Way to go Bears! A great individual performance and a good team performance. The Defense played pretty well despite giving up 36 points. Dylon Smith was all over the field and he probably weighs 160 pounds soaking wet but hits like a defensive end or linebacker. Throws his whole body into a hit. Once on a kickoff he got hammered and jumped right back up and made a play. Outstanding night way to go Gilliam. Bring on Estill Co.!

The kids at Harlan County are starting to catch on to what Coach Larkey expects. I thought they could beat M'boro, but 630 yards rushing? Wow.

I counted wrong. It's 426 for Gilliam.

Harlan County had 630 yards rushing as a team.

 

424 was the previous mountain record earned by Lawrence County's Michael West.

Wow!!!! What an unbelievable (magical) night for Mr. Gilliam and the HC Black Bears. Who would have expected something like this!! Middlesboro plays an excellent (undefeated) Corbin team last week in a tough defensive struggle (14-7) then the Black Bears lay 58 points and 630 rushing yards on them after they just a couple weeks ago allowed 600 plus yards to Breathitt County in a severe Breathitt beat down. The upcoming HC/ Estill County game will be a very interesting matchup given the fact that Breathitt only got by Estill 7-6.
