October 17, 200817 yr If he was with the Phillies they'd be the favorite to win again. I think he'll stay in LA. I can't see Philly giving him the type of money that he'll command. Unless they get rid of Burrell, which may be an option.

October 17, 200817 yr Looks like around 25 million a year. http://www.sabernomics.com/sabernomics/index.php/2008/10/is-manny-worth-150-million/
October 17, 200817 yr Wouldn't you rather pay around $5 Mill per year extra for Manny over Burrell? Burrell isn't a great defensive player, but he's a lot better than Manny. The Phillies are already in the World Series, so I don't know if they'd risk bringing in Manny and the extra attention that surrounds him. Manny is going to want bigtime money and a longterm contract. I don't know how long he'll be able to play in the National League, either.
October 17, 200817 yr Manny will stay in LA ... Ned Colletti, now that he has saved his job, will throw a bunch of money at Manny to make him stay.
October 17, 200817 yr Manny will play in LA, just not sure which one. No way he goes to Philly....If he thought the Boston fans and media were hard on him, what do you think he's going to think about the Philly ones?
