(and I would love a link to it so I could read that "wisdom" in its entirety") I agree holeheartedly, but I also agree that it is wrong for anyone to judge him based on his color of skin, heritage, or name. I think a lot of people base their opinions on this stuff. I have no problem with Obama based on his skin color, beliefs, etc., I dont like him because of his politics, and thats what it is really all about. I do agree though that if the roles were reversed the media would find a way to praise Obama and bash McCain. So how some way.

October 16, 200817 yr I know it cuts both ways. I have a brother in law who is an independent. He is leaning towards Obama. When I asked him why, his comment was 'I want to shut up some of these redneck inbreds who aren't voting for him because of his race.' My comment was, it is shameful that we still have people who will vote for him or against him based on the color of his skin. Either was is absolutely shameful. Vote for the person you truly believe is best for the country based on beliefs, experience, record, leadership, etc. If you do that, regardless of what side of the aisle you favor, your vote is the right vote for you.

Sad but true their are a lot of people that will vote for Obama primarily bc of his race, and also alot who won't.

JMO But, this what if scenario is absurd. Both of these guys are human beings, therefore they have "flaws". McCain has been divorced...Obama was friends with a terrorist, etc., etc. It completely ignores the minor detail of ideology. Sure, there are racists in this country and there are always going to be. But, guess what...white people don't have the patent on it. Race has not been a huge factor in this election to date...if it was, Obama would not be leading in the polls right now. I think a better scenario would be this... What if John McCain was pro-choice? What if he refused to vote against partial birth abortion? What if Barack Obama was pro-life? What if John McCain wanted to get out of Iraq ASAP? What if Barack Obama wanted to stay as long as it took to get the job done? What if John McCain wanted to "spread the wealth"? What if Barack Obama didn't? What if...well, you get the point.

Fortunately for Obama, he is half white, was raised in a white home, but is also African-American, so I think a lot of people can relate to him. With all that talk, one would think that whites and blacks are the only two races in the United States.
