October 16, 200817 yr my point exactly... I think people are taking my post the wrong way though that is my fault I should have addressed what my intent was but I thought some would get it. But basically what if Obama had John McCain record/back ground and Obama had his? I got this in and email thought some would see what i was trying to get through but I guess not.:irked: If their political beliefs were also reversed I would be voting for Obama. Simple answer, I'm not voting against Obama because of any reason other then that he is an ultraliberal left wing nutjob.

McCain's supporters would but it's been acknowledged that reverse either candidate and their supporters would be blasting them.

I could be wrong, but you seem to be the one who brought race into this entire argument. If you believe that Obama is the best choice for our country, then so be it. If someone doesn't, it does not make them a racist. You seem to have the mistaken assumption that everyone who disagrees with Obama and questions his background must be a racist. It is no different than those who disagree with McCain are questioning his standing as a war hero when that isn't the case.

Why do you think the media would treat Obama worse when (outside of Fox), most media outlets have treated him like a saving hero. (BTW, I think that I know the answer, just want to see you actually write it)

I honestly believe that if this were the case then Obama would have been praised as someone who had perservered under trying conditions, had raised a family and continued to support his family through adversity rather then having his parenting questioned because of the pregnant daughter and whose committment to being a good parent were questioned has Sarah Palin's has been by some in the media. I honestly believe that if this were the case then Obama would have been praised as someone who had perservered under trying conditions, had raised a family and continued to support his family through adversity rather then having his parenting questioned because of the pregnant daughter and whose committment to being a good parent were questioned has Sarah Palin's has been by some in the media. October 16, 200817 yr If the Obama's had all of these things happen in their lives then I'd imagine the American people would be able to relate to them better and feel as though they have more common ground than they currently do.

It covers up, rationalizes and minimizes positive qualities in one candidate and emphasizes negative qualities in another when there is a color difference. That is what you said which indicates to me that you believe that anyone with issues regarding Obama is emphasizing negative qualities because of race. I do agree that there are people who will not vote for him because of the color of his skin or some insane lies told about him (I too have gotten those emails, some misquoting his book). I also agree that there are folks who are going to vote for him only because of the color of his skin. Both are wrong IMHO. It is not what Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr fought and died for. People should be judged by the content of their character not the color of their skin. That also means that people, regardless of their skin color, can be discussed based on those issues and it not be racist.
