September 30, 200818 yr The most relaxing and calming thing for me is not easily accessible here in Kentucky.......a long walk on the beach. The sound of the ocean has a very calming effect!
September 30, 200818 yr I once enjoyed long drives to clear my mind. Now, with gas around 4 dollar a gallon, I just set at home and drink. Honestly, my list is pretty similar to the above posters. If I'm stressed, I lay down and listen to some music. If I'm angry or frustrated, I work out. Also, and I know it may be unhealthy, but when I'm really stressed nothing does the trick like a glass of whiskey. I don't consider myself an alcoholic in any way, but there's just something about it that calms me down.

You aren't kidding. We went to Daytona a few years back and popped open the hatch on the van. I bet I sat there for three hours just listening to the ocean. I had the blood pressure of a corpse when I left. It was utterly amazing.

September 30, 200818 yr A long, hot bath with baby bath...then afterward, put on baby lotion and baby powder...get in bed and read.... If that don't work, I am sure my Lexapro will!

September 30, 200818 yr When you are angry or upset what do you do that calms you down? I have been under alot of stress lately and I'm wondering if any of you do something special to help calm you down?I'm a Type "A" personality and usually fairly intense, which often results in stress/pressure. I rely a lot, on The Prayer of Serenity. During times, when it seems tough I like to recite it to myself, or just think of a few lines. Also being to yourself, can help with some tension. I've always adopted the philosophy, no matter what is happening now, things will be better in 2-3 days. It usually does.
September 30, 200818 yr Another, is watching a sunrise sitting on the deck, with a slight wind/chill in the air.
