September 30, 200818 yr What do these numbers mean exactly? I know nothing about point spreads. Example, Alamaba is giving 16.5 pts to UK. They would have to beat them by 17 to cover.

They have won back-to-back bowl games and are 4-0. I don't think they'll be a whipping stick like we've seen against top tier teams in the past. I think they'll compete and be in the game.
