University of Cambridge researchers created a "personality map" of the United States, based on about 620,000 online surveys of Americans taken over six years, and found a national "stress belt" on the east coast stretching from Maine to Louisiana. Researchers used the survey results to estimate in which states certain personality traits are the strongest and found some tended to cluster in certain parts of the country.
